I am always delighted to see a Riverside Indonesian BBQ stall at the food court and will usually order their Ayam Panggang set. This time, I decided to try their Ikan Panggang which was so good! The grilled fish is huge and as always, I love the side serving of curry vegetables and egg! continue reading

Had my dinner in this foodcourt and saw the long queue outside this stall so decided to check out. Have bought the bbq chicken rice which I have also requested add more cabbage. In total only $5.40, is super cheap and affordable. The portion is very generous and the chicken drumstick is super fragrant and tender. Cabbage is very crunchy and not too oily. Enjoyed the sambal chilli sauce which got mix with diced tomato and ikan billis which is very flavourful. The stall is clean and service quite friendly. continue reading

Thsi place needs no introduction, popular for its indonesian bbq style offering. I opted this time round for the combo - including both the grilled fish and grilled sotong. The fish has already been pre fried then heated up on the grill again before dipping into the sweet sauce prior to serving. Sotong is grilled from scratch though. This set sets me back at $6.75 only due to the 10% discount for kopitiam card users. Couldn't ask for more. With an additional fried egg and some cabbage as side, the curry drained rice is a perfect dinner option at a food court. Special mention to the sambal chilli which includes onion inside, not overly spicy and complements the meat well. continue reading

Have always wanted to try this but gave up at sight of the long queue. The opportunity came where there was no queue at this stall, it was 845pm already. Though i'm not a fish lover but decided to try this ikan panggang after seeing quite a few table of diners eating it. At $5.50 ($4.95 after kopitiam card discount), you can one grilled fish, rice with curry sauce, some vege, a sunny side-up and a bowl of soup. The fish given is more of a fish fillet than a whole fish. The fish is dipped into their special sweet sauce after grilling on a bbq stove. the sauce "stains" the fish well and combined perfectly with it. i like the fact the fish is grilled to bite worthy - crispy in texture. The sambal chilli offered at the counter is also worth mentioning, similar to yukee type with ikan bilis inside, it just brings out the indonesian cuisine very well. The soup that came along is a disappointment though with no ingredients in it and tasted very blant. I would love to try the chicken version next time, which looks a little like breaded fried chicken (imagine fish and chip texture look alike drumstick) continue reading

The BBQ Chicken drum stick coated with their special a dark BBQ sauce is must try! The plain rice is also coated with light curry gravy to enhance the taste. This dish is also completed with 1 egg omelette and stir-fry cabbage. At $4.80 per plate, it sure worth the price! The branch at Plaza Singapura aways invite long queues during lunch and dinner hours as well. My verdict: 7/10 continue reading
