Barcook Bakery is one of my favourite bakery shop in Singapore! They never fail to have a long queue each time I pass by and I will join in as well! It is really worth the wait. Almost everyone's favourite is their cream cheese bun, which is the bomb! I tried cream cheese buns from other bakeries too but none could beat Barcook! The bun is soft and generously filled with light cream cheese and raisins, simply irresistible! continue reading

The Cheese & Rain Bread that I bought from Barcook Bakery Shop at Alberta Complex is quite a great find. I had to wait in a long queue to get it. Though it has simple ingredients, it was done in a wonderful way. The freshly made cheese just melts inside the mouth and the light and creamy cheese, raisins combination goes really well. Everything was fresh and perfect and it costs only $1.40 continue reading

As I walked passed Barcook Bakery along Albert Street, temptations filled me and I went ahead to queue for the freshly baked buns displayed on its shelves. Packed with the melted custard and salted egg yolk, the appearance of a Liu Sa Bun comes with a hole in the middle. As I bite on the bun, the fillings slowly ooze out from the outlet.Cost: $1.50Fine Char Siew Polo Bun looked rough on the outside with crumbs clinging onto the buns. Bun was tore apart and it was seen that big tasty chunks of roasted to brownish red char siew meat was included. As I sink my teeth into the bun, the pillow soft bun and its sweet tender char siew meat felt fresh!Cost: $1.50Apart from the mentioned buns above, Mash Potato Nachos is one of my all time favourite too. Total spending for the morning is $7.60 for 2 Mash Potato, 1 salty egg yolk, 1 polo char siew and 1 liu sha bun. continue reading

I happened to be around the area and decided that I had to get some of the bakery's liu sa bun. Unfortunately, they weren't ready yet and I was told a fresh batch will be out within an hour. I decided to roam around the area and do some shopping before returning in an hour's time to buy the bun. It was fresh out of the oven, and I was delighted that it was still warm. As usual, the bread was soft and fluffy. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by my purchase this time round- the filling was really little and I could not taste much of the salted egg yolk filling, there was just custard. I'm not sure if they might have compromised on the quality as they rushed the bread out for me. I was very disappointed and I do feel the next time you want to buy your favourite bread and are asked to wait for a long time for it, just get some other bread instead. continue reading

The FoodAlways wanted to try Barcook buns after hearing so much about it.. And I finally did! I tried the mixed berry cream cheese and it was quite good. Generous blueberry and cream cheese. Love it! Many people bought many buns at one go. Now I know why!The Price/b]It costs around $1.60, which is quite pricey but I am not complaining. The ServiceService was fast which is good as there was a queue. continue reading
