Jollibean has been around as one of the more established stalls specializing in soya bean milk. The branch as Woodlands Civic Centre may be small but it offers the usual range of Jollibean soya bean milk and pancakes. On this particular trip, I bought a bunch of food for my parents and myself as my mum wanted to have some soya bean milk.I like that their classic soya bean milk is thick and smooth and not too sweet. The one with grass jelly had a decent portion of grass jelly in it but personally I prefer the classic version. Sometimes, simple is best! The one thing that I always get when I visit this stall is the pancake rolls. I think the quality of the pancakes differ from store to store as I've also tried it from a branch in Tampines and I found the pancake there to be rather bland and the filling to be rather meager. The branch at Woodlands Civic Center tasted much better and there was more paste in the pancakes. The red bean paste was sweet and the peanut paste was crunchy. Personally, I prefer getting the pancakes with the peanut paste as it is also more tasty and more filling!I also occasionally treat myself to their traditional pancakes, and this was one of those times. The pancake was thick and the peanut filling was quite generous. The mix of softness and crunchiness was especially delightful! I'd give five-stars just for the pancake rolls and traditional pancakes alone! I also got the round pancakes in the new soy custard and curry chicken flavours. I have also previously tried the chicken ham and potato, red bean, green tea, and chocolate flavours. I think the round pancakes are pretty average though. They are smaller than the ones from Mr. Bean and the portion of the filling inside was smaller too. The taste was also much milder than Mr. Bean. But if I had to choose among their range of flavours for the round pancakes, my favourite would be the green tea. Overall, I'd say go for their soya bean milk, pancake rolls and traditional pancakes instead, especially those with the peanut filling! continue reading

Craving for good old peanut pancakes? Jollibean is the place to go. Pancakes are assured to be fresh. Pancakes are priced at $2.40 for 3 pieces or $1.20 per piece. Fillings available consist of peanut or red bean. I decided to get peanut filling for all 3 pieces. The peanut filing seemed to gush out from every bite. The filling was generous and very crunchy. Would satisfy any peanut lover! continue reading

I always liked to order the peanut pancakes at Jollibean, the triangular shaped ones since it is bigger, has crispy edges and it is more satisfying. I love the gooey sticky peanut filling that they used for its peanut pancake. Although I find the filling a little too sweet, but paired with the thick pancake, the taste would be just right. The pancake is best eaten on the day of purcahse, since the pancake would harden if left out for a long time. That is not much of a problem to me since I would always eat it straight after buying, as it it too delicious to keep for long. continue reading

Jollibean is a good place for snacks as their products are healthy - low in saturated fats, contains no cholesterol and are a good source of soluble fibre. I was craving for their pancakes that day and I was spoilt for choices as the pancakes comes in different designs - the traditional one, round ones, crispy flat ones and the rolled up kinds. I decided to go with the traditional ones as they are bigger in size. I bought the peanut and red bean flavour as I think this two taste the best. They are generous with the filling and you can see from the pictures the filling are oozing out of the pancakes. In the peanut filling, you can experience the cruchiness of the peanut bits. As for the red bean paste, I think the sweetness is just right. The pancake skin was not too thick and was pretty soft. continue reading
