The place is located just above the departure hall. Prices on menu looks reasonable and we decide to have a quick meal before flight.Curry Koay Teow with Curry Chicken ($7.00)The curry powder taste is a bit strong here. But the Koay Teow is quite smoothSparkling Calamansi ($5.00)Just normal lime juice.Iced Mojito ($5.00)Tastes like 7-up to me, with some mints for decoration.Roti Bakar Susu ($3.00)Waited quite awhile for this. It is actually toasted thick bread with lots of melted butter and condensed milk on top. Sinful but yummy.Ipoh Koay Teow Soup with Steamed Chicken ($7.90)We have finished the above dishes when finally this arrived. The Koay Teow Soup is light and silky. Little JJ has quite an amount of it. Not sure if he is too hungry, especially after waiting so long for food. The staffs have forgetten the desserts (Lemon Grass Jelly with Ice Blended Calamansi, and Sea Coconut, Black Jelly with Lychee) despite reminding them a number of times. In fact, I have asked them to serve everything together including the dessert when placing the order. In the end, I decide to cancel the order of desserts when billing at the cashier. The dessert aunty who standing to the cashier, still has to cheek to say that she is making the dessert now when questioned by a senior staff. Hi aunty, I have been sitting right in front of you during the whole meal, but none of the orders is for me.Total the meal costs $31.43. Overall it has been a horrible meal for me. Do not think will be visiting this place in the near future. continue reading

The restaurant was full house when we came but just nice a family was leaving and we got seats! The three of us ordered the dry Ipoh Horfun as it's one of their specialty. Our food arrived around 10 minutes later and it looks nice with lots of ingredients! However, taste-wise, it was so bland! There was really not much taste and totally not worth the price at all. We were also super disappointed with our dessert as the Durian ice-cream turned out to be the artificial kind and not the real durian puree flesh There was a long queue when we left though and I'm not sure if we ordered the wrong food. continue reading

Remarkable Malaysian foodies, it was a splendid adventure to hunt for wonderful local delight. PappaMia was a nice place dining before taken off, conveniently located at upstairs Departure Checking Counter. Environment was similar with OldTown Coffee, quite comfortable. Decor was simple with wooden furniture, Menu was extensive too.Penang Char Kway Teow was my dish, fragrant with the right amount of garlic, egg and fresh prawns. Noodle was moist and not too wet, taste enhanced by darkening soy sauce. Request some sambal chilli from a staff, the whole was a perfect kick. Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun was a bit disappointing, too mushy and tasteless. Assam Laksa was still considered okay, but I prefer authentic one at Penang. Dried Beef Noodle wise, boneless well-marinated meat was delicious to accompany the whole. Certainly affordable price, it would be better if their food was getting improved. continue reading

Hubby and I were going on a holiday and chose to dine here before checking in. This place sells local delicacy at inflated prices...average price for a hawker dish here is $7-8, I had the Nasi Lemak set plus iced Milo for about $10.The Nasi lemak is very delicious, rice was cooked till soft and very fragrant, chicken wing well marinated and crispy, egg was well done, ikan bilis & peanuts were crunchy, the achar was good and last but not least the sambal chili was very good! The ice Milo was so so...nothing to rave about. continue reading

At Changi Airport T1 you can get Malaysian flavor food. We decided to go there for lunch and try some of Malaysian Favourites. It is located on the floor about the check in counters. It is on the right side of the escalator. The place has a open concept cafe where people walking by can look into the cafe. The Penang Fried Kway Teow was fried with "Wok Hei" and tasted similar to what you get in Penang. The noodle was not soggy and stir fried with prawns and crunchy bean sprout. My mum Ipoh Kway Teow Soup came in a clear chicken broth with the thin Kway Teoh like what you get in Ipoh. It is topped with Prawn, shredded chicken and spring onion. The Assam Laksa was not sour enough and the dark prawn paste was not enough. I had to asked for an extra serving of the Prawn Paste. I was surprised they served hard boiled egg with it. This is the 1st time I come across Assam Laksa with Hard boiled egg. This is the 1st time I came acrossOtak omelette, and we decided to order it. It look like a small pancake. The Otak inside the omelette was not spicy, The size is enough for 4 person. The Chendol came served in a ice cream bowl. It is filled with finely crushed ice, topped with brown sugar, thick coconut milk and green chendol jelly. This combination is a cool relieve to a hot day.The food is just ok but do not expect the same standard as what you get in Malaysia, so you will not be disappointed. continue reading
