Having passed by this interesting looking little pub / diner on several occasions, and never failing to see many patrons crowding around the open bar counter, I finally had the chance to visit.Internal setting was rather cosy and comfortable, with a long linear at the back creating visual spaciousness, tasteful lights were used, as well as some cushy couch seats.Service leaves a lot of room for desire, although at least one of them was making efforts to bridge the gap in service lapse. Also, we didn't get to try their famous grill (despite having been reminded that they serve food so NO outside food allowed initially) because kitchen was down for the evening.  Nonetheless, the Liquid Buffet (SGD$19.90 for ladies / SGD$29.90 for men) where one could drink till they drop between 5pm till 11pm was awesome. Well, the promo is over on the last day of May, but it's worth a shot to keep a lookout for other promos coming up (if any). Hope this time we get to try some food or tapas along with our drinks. For full review, please refer:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2016/05/liquid-buffet-at-moo-bar-and-grill.html continue reading

My girlfriend and I were encouraged to try this restaurant today for lunch because of positive reviews we had read. In short, we were very disappointed. The first thing to note is that the 1-for-1 mains deal is not as good as it sounds, because they simply charge double the price of a comparable main at another restaurant (e.g. the cod, which by the waitress's own admission is small, costs $48). Nonetheless, we ordered the cod and the steak, with a side of frogs legs. The second problem was the food took much too long to arrive, despite the fact that the restaurant was only half full. The cod took 30 mins, the steak took 40 mins and the frogs legs never arrived at all (we had to leave). Our complaint was met by indifference from the wait staff. When the food eventually arrived, it was well below par. The cod was mushy (I guess because it had been frozen for a long time) and over-seasoned with what tasted like black bean paste straight out of a jar. The beef was way overcooked (well done and tough, we had asked for medium rare). We sent the beef back to the kitchen but didn't have time to wait around for them to cook another one. The frogs legs hadn't arrived yet so we cancelled them and left. We were made to pay full price for the cod, meaning we were short-changed by one (free) main. An awful experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. continue reading

Came during the lunch hours, and was served by a friendly staff. But other than the service, everything was pretty average.Prices are too exorbitant, for the quality of food.I had the eggs florentine, $26++Only managed to clear half the plate.Felt sick of the dish after 2 mouthful, because of the hollandaise sauce - way too buttery that makes the dish hard to stomach. The only part I like about this dish was the GRILLED TOMATO -.-Suggest against ordering this dish.Next, there was a soup of the day, which was the carrot soup.Very jelat after 2 mouthfuls too. Okay, now that I'm typing these, I just recalled they forgot to serve me my orange juice (rofl)Will I come back again? definitely, NO continue reading

The place is located near Amoy St, it's quite packed during lunch time. We ordered the set lunch, the pumpkin soup was quite good. Then I ordered fish and chips, it was not bad. They have one for one promotion (i think all day all night). So it's quite worth it. The service was quite good, everytime the lady came over to our table and ask whether everything is okay. You can give it a try. continue reading

Check out more reviews at http://thehungrybunnie.blogspot.comThe 1-for-1 lunch promo is really the entire reason for the restaurant's popularity. At full-on prices, the quality isn't up to par. But, with prices halved, the portions seem twice as generous, you become twice as forgiving and the entire meal appears doubly value-for-money. But, as expected, the downside of a busy restaurant is the resultant choppy service. It took a good half hour before our mains arrived. Our iced waters arrived after 2 reminders and when we were halfway through our mains. We had:1) Oven Baked 'Beer Can' Free Range Chicken ($30) with rosemary and a beer-infused pullet - too dry and lacking in taste, even if the portion was generous and could easily feed 2. The free refill of truffle mash was the best thing about this dish.2) Grilled Fillet of Chicken Thigh ($16) with a lemon and rosemary spice rub was much better than the beer can chicken. Juicy and tender, albeit a little ordinary and pedestrian. A mild gravy of smoked jus provided additional lubrication, while sides of tangy fruit salsa and steak frites rounded off the dish3) Giant Bangers and Mash ($18): a tad disappointing. The sausages turned out to be ordinary hotdogs, like those generic supermarket brands types, lacking in texture. So, despite the seemingly impressive 2 x 1ft length, it was a little underwhelming. We liked the truffle mash and sweetish onion rosemary jus thoughAll mains arrive with a Soup-of-the-Day, i.e. a cream of potato and leek which was a little too watery and generically can-based continue reading
