Ordered Chicken Chop Set at Swensen's and was rather disappointed with the small serving of Fries and Chicken Chop. The chicken chop was crispy and the meat was pretty tender too however, it wasn't exceptionally delicious. Hence, I don't think that the chicken chop set worth the money that I have paid for which was about $20 (Inclusive of GST and Service Charge). Furthermore, I think that the service of the restaurant is not very good because they expect customers to proceed to the counter for payment despite the fact that we have to pay for the service charge. continue reading

We decided to have the chocolate fudge ice cream at Swensens located at Marina Square. The ice cream had whipped cream, cookies and cream and waffles toppings which enhance the ice cream experience. It costs around $8 which I felt was worth the money. It was a great place to chill with family and friends. continue reading

The first thing I noticed about Swensen is that the crowd is thinner as compared to last time. I guess it is perhaps the ever popular 1 for 1 mains promotion is over. I know Swensen used to be really crowded during that time because that promotion made me go there more frequently as well.I wanted something light so I ordered the soup and also a side, the bruschetta. The soup is the daily soup of the day. I think it is cream of chicken and corn soup. I found it a little salty. If only there is complimentary garlic toast, it would make the soup more perfect since even the slightly salty nature of the soup, it would be better if there is a bread dip. The bruschetta is basically tomato salsa on top of garlic butter french loaf. I find the tomato salsa really tangy due to the slight sourness and it is contrasted with the parmesan cheese which is sprinkled on top of the toast. This can be easily replicated at home, but I really appreciate how Swensen does it. continue reading

My family of 3 were seated at around 7.30pm and the last dish which is this horrible, tasteless lamb chop was served at 8.45pm on the 23rd Jan 2012 (Chinese New Year)Certainly not worth the wait as the lamp chops were tastless, hard to bite, dressing very oily.It came in 3 pieces of lamp chop but the meat were so tough and this is the worst lamp chop i had ever tasted.Served with peppermint dressing which is so oily and on top of that the waiting time of over an hour. continue reading

I have always gone to swensens for ice cream when i have cravings for ice cream, but i was particularly upset at this outlet. I had hazel daze ice cream, and all outlets should have the same ice cream, so i wont comment more on the taste. But the service and the way they handle situations is really bad. The thing is, i found a fry in my ice cream half way while eating, to my upmost disgust. And i pointed that out to the waiter, who merely take away my cup of ice cream and offer me a new cup. But the problem is, i am already very disgusted by the idea of having a fly in my ice cream, and i do not want even more of that, what more since "another cup" will still come out of the same tub of ice cream. So, he asked what soft drinks i would like to have, and that will be on the house. But, in my opinion, the whole of the first ice cream should already be on the house. Why should i pay for something that is totally not up to the standard At least offer or assure me that they will look into the cleanliness of the restaurant. So, nope. I will not go here ever again. continue reading
