The Salmon Zukushi Set ($24) looks awesome on picture, but it is too bad that the staff at sakae sushi is unable to reproduce even 50% similarity to the picture. The set that was presented to me look like a mess. Salmon slices, on one hand, is reasonably fresh. But again, the difference with the picture on menu is too huge! I was tricked into believing thick long slices of sashimi will be served, but i ended up lumps of short mess. For the price and quality, i might as well get from convenient sushi bars outside. continue reading

Went there for buffet lunch with my friends . The buffet selection is limited as the price is about $22 per person . But the sushi was great . We are able to select from the computer and the waiter will serve us . Despite having a buffet which have a longer time for eating and chill out with friends . They had some ala carte menus . Do try their soft shell crabs as well as their crabmeat mayonnaise sushi and tako balls . It's really taste nice and fresh . continue reading

Hooray!! This is my 2nd birthday here. Time really passed fast. I still can remember my birthday in Year 2011 was the Mango King Cake. Haha. Was looking back the photo taken last year, all of us have changed. Yet, memories won't fade. This year, they decide to give me surprise. Ordering Sakea Sushi for lunch-in without my knowledge. Of course, I like Japanese food especially Bento. It is simple lunch but I am touching. Each of us ordered Bento, Teriyaki Bento, Soba Shioyaki Bento and Tempura Bento are the Famous Bento thus we ordered. Must try the Tenzaru Soba which ordered by Paul. The soba is refreshing and I just can't stop eating it once i started. Haha. Tempura is crispy, Teriyaki chicken is tasty, even the handroll (as our side dish) also delightful. If anyone want to order delivery food but no idea what to eat, maybe you can try this. Last but not least, I want to take this opportunity to thanks to my lovely colleagues!! Cheers!! continue reading

I last ate at Sakae around one month ago and just yesterday, I went there again since my daughter has some sakae vouchers which are expiring soon. For the fun of it, since we always did not order the inari, we decided to order all three types of it from the fish roe to the egg to the crab mayo. It looks really colourful and tastewise I preferred the crab mayo the most since it is sweet tasting and it is complementary to the inari which is also sweet tasting. The fish roe is also not too bad as well. However, I still preferred the normal sushis and not the inaris since the normal sushis taste better with wasabi. I find that pairing inari with wasabi ruins the taste. continue reading
