The matcha series is, if I'm not wrong, a recently introduced series, and they have matcha latte, gong cha milk matcha, etc, along with other fruit flavoured teas. As a matcha lover, I wanted to try out their new matcha drink, and so I ordered the matcha latte. They were obviously understaffed as there was a very long queue and nobody tending to the cashier. The matcha drink was horrible as there was no matcha taste at all, the whole drink tasted very sweet although I only asked for 25% sugar level. Not recommended. For $3.20 you are better off with other drinks. continue reading

I took some time to locate this new Gong Cha outlet in B1 of Changi City Point along a fairly quiet corridor. It is actually diagonally next to the entrance of Cold Storage Supermarket. There were three staff on duty on Thursday afternoon, two of whom were in charge of fixing the drinks while one took orders and handled payment. I was delighted to be served my drink immediately after payment. My order of Gong Cha's signature Alishan Milk Tea lived up to its reputation. Here the tea is concentrated and topped by a generous layer of rich and thick milk foam.It was bliss in every sip for me. This outlet is currently having a promotion for Matcha Milk Tea with Azuki Beans - usual price $3.90 for 16oz cup but now it is just $3. My friend ordered this and was happy with the generous amount of red beans despite the promotion. There is another bubble tea shop further down the same corridor as Gong Cha which prices 16oz drinks at flat rate of $2 but this Gong Cha outlet has held on to its regular customers who walked past the new shop to buy from Gong Cha. Besides the promo item other popular drinks here include the passionfruit green tea, korean citron a juice with jelly, caramel milk tea and lemon juice with pearl and jelly. continue reading
