I enjoy going to Cedele for breakfast, not so much for its main courses, but more so for the variety of complementary bread selection! That said, I still find their mains to be quite appealing, hearty and delicious! All in Breakfast Toast Set ($13.80)Decided to try out their most expensive breakfast set as I was redeeming a voucher that required certain minimum value. I love their fluffy scrambled eggs and savoury sautéed mushrooms. The sausages were quite tasty though I find the skin a little too tough. A pity, I feel, was the value-to-proportion of food served. If not for the complementary bread selection, the relatively hefty price tag would not be justified at all.Nevertheless, Cedele remains one of my favourite bakeries! Do try out their sandwiches and yummy cakes! continue reading

I visited Cedele countless time for their dessert and pastries, but for this round, I went for their Main Course. My friend excitingly recommended me to have their Crab Pasta. Several pasta for me to pick, I opted for healthier choice, Wholemeal Spaghetti. Drizzled along with Spaghetti, the Crab meat was a lot. The taste was overally delicious and peppery, the fragrance was strong. Unfortunately, Crispy Softshell Crab was a little bit burnt and oily. It was $17.80++ for Pasta. continue reading

After collected our (me and my bf) race packs at velocity for Pocari Run 2013, we decided to stop by Cedele for coffee at tea time. Bf waited for a good ten minutes at the counter before his order was taken. The service staffs at the counter were quite slow even though the cafe was not packed. After the order was taken, we waited for more than 5 minutes for the Hazelnut Latte. The drink looked wrong as there was no hazelnut fudge on it. Bf went to the counter to check the order and guess what? The barista took a sniff at the latte which was very unhygienic at its very best! We were totally disgusted by their service! The manager realized what was going on and decided to offer a complimentary iced chocolate mocha for us. The hazelnut latte tasted average and didn't have a strong brew of coffee taste. But on the contrary, the Ice Chocolate Mocha was awesome! continue reading

Cedele is a good place to go for your pastry or cake fix. It has a wide variety of freshly baked goods suitable for both breakfast and tea. Last time I visited I had a cranberry scone which was fluffy and moist while being crisp on the outside. Buttery with a generous helping of dried cranberries distributed evenly throughout the pastry, it was really delicious! continue reading

For more info, feel free to visit my review here: http://thedessertprince.com/cedele-bakery-cafe-convenient-healthy-food/Eating healthily is really the trend now. You can see our government promoting it’s citizen having more vegetables in this and less oil in that because of rising health issues within the community. You can even see bloggers promoting government initiatives to eat healthily. Can you imagine asking the hawker to use less oil in your favourite Char Kway Teow? I can but just be prepared to have your head smack by that metal ladle. While I think it’s important to have proper meals and everything else in moderation, there will always be those spruce of moments where you just can’t resist pampering yourself…I know I know…A little sweetness in life ain’t too much right and how healthy do you want when you know the cakes in front of you contains only unsalted butter and whatever else that’s organic? I mean how healthy do you want your desserts to gets? Just like our Blueberry Hazelnut Cheese Cake with hues of blues hidden inside the chilled cheese delight then topped of with what I like to think as organic hazelnuts too! Chocolate Truffle Cake was one of those chocolate lover’s dream come true. As chocolaty as I love it to be, I never quite enjoy the dry-mouth taste that the chocolate powder on the surface of the cake.My motto is simple. When one isn’t enough, go for another! True enough, we found ourselves at another outlet of Cedele again for tea. Dark Real Chocolate Cake is a really moist and dense piece of chocolate and mocha surprise.Red Velvet Cake was two stacks of oily and dense dark red pound cakes all packed neatly together with cream cheese. There’s no doubt it’s oozing oil everywhere but rest assure that they are just grapeseed oil, meaning just you can just enjoy in peace.Icome to realise that conventional outlets isn’t such a bad concept afterall. At least you can always pop by the nearest cafe for your so desired cravings. Especially one that’s done really good and healthy… continue reading
