For those who are new to Dozo, the 7 course dinner set is $59.80++ per pax and 6 course lunch set is $39.80++. You can choose your preferred items in each course. Great for people who love variety! Chef's Selection of Assorted PlatterSide DishCold DishSoupMain CourseFruit Tea: I liked both drinks been very refreshing and not overpowering with artificial sweetness. A nice way to clear our palate for the desserts!Dessert: Desserts were pretty standard, but I probably shouldnt have chosen cheesecake since by then, I was already super full. On the contrary, milk pudding was kind of exotic, you either like it or hate it, I guess. Lime/Calamansi Ice SorbetOverall, we enjoyed our dinner, with good (& humorous) service and ambiance. Food wise, some hits & some misses. Visit http://fun-hideout.blogspot.sg/2013/09/dozo-my-birthday-treat.html to read more & see pictures! continue reading

Dozo's menu is featured of the Japanese, European and France cuisines and i was amazed by how this modern fine dining Japanese restaurant introduce their sophisticated and elegance cuisine. I have no idea that this fine dining will blow away my mind. It has been so long that I had an excellent fine dining that has a fantastic taste from starter to the dessert. So basically, you will get to choose one of the options that are provided from their starter, cold dish, side dish, soup, main course and last but not least the dessert. Well well, dont forget about the drinks too Service is good, the staffs are very friendly and knowlegdable, they will recommend which is the best on the menu. The price is SGD 70 per pax and it is absolutely reasonable for the 7 course of fine dining yes i am talking about fine dining here. Here are the photos that I took during dinner Hope you guys enjoy IMG:8] continue reading

Dozo is a well known restaurant situated in River Valley that offers set meals; similar concept to Tao's/Zero Zero. I went for dinner and had a pretty good experience. You get to pick each course from a wide selection so there is mix and match. I had the mushroom and truffle soup, truffle taste wasn't that distinct. I also had the beef tenderloin where the hot granite will cook and sizzle your semi-raw beef cuts. If you like your beef anything but well done, then this is a good choice. Ended with matcha ice cream which was alright. continue reading

Refreshments were served by friendly servers while we wait for the magic to begin.Beef Tenderloin on Pu Ye and Granite Hot Stone – Well plated semi raw generous cuts of tenderloin slowly cooks on the piping hot granite as smokes of delicious smells and charring sizzle the signals to your desired rate of cooking. One bite and your taste buds tell you how well seasoned it is followed by a smile.Beef Tataki with shaved parmesan and truffle mayo mosaic – Initial impression was like a red meat tower of beautiful marbling where the princess of taste is held hostage therefore we need to rescue her by eating our way through. Applying a thin layer of truffle mayo evenly on the beef enhances the taste as it melts in the mouth easily barely any effort chewing.Foie Gras Chawanmushi topped with black truffle slice – combination of highest ranking ingredients (Foie Gras and Truffle) in Western Cuisine fused into a simple small Japanese steamed egg dish in the hands of skilled chefs creates a wow factor on how balanced it tastes, ingredients doesn’t overpower each other and blends together just fine.Dozo’s freshly baked warm chocolate cake with ice cream – also known as Molten/Lava cake with some people, luscious and gooey warm chocolate oozes out from the moist and dense rich chocolate cake, pairing off with a contrast of temperatures to the creamy and light vanilla icecream pulls the final curtains to this amazing dining experience. continue reading

We had been to Tao's Restaurant, Juju and now we are here at Dozo. For lunch, it is a 6-course set and what is interesting here is that for every course, we can pick our preferred dish from a selectionFruity drink was served in shotglasses before our meal. While waiting for our food, we nibbled on the crispy somen sticks of different flavour.Hubby's Gratinated Escargots topped with Yuzu butterTook one escargot and it was quite meaty and chewy, left me craving for more!Infusion of cepes mushroom and truffleThe staff explained to me that I was supposed to chew the truffle first before drinking the soup. However, the truffle was so thin that I could hardly taste any favour out of it. Didn't really matter as the mushroom soup was thick and tasty.Beef Tenderloin on "pu-ye" and granite hot stoneI was really impressed with this main course in terms of presentation and taste. The beef was really tender and you could still cook the beef slices on the hot stones if you find them too raw.For dinner, there will be an additional 1 course of cold dish. However, in terms of price, it will cost $20++ more than the 6-course lunch set. For our lunch set, it cost $93.70 for 2 including service charge and GST. continue reading
