There was at least one Muslim stall at main hawker centres in Singapore, purpose to serve Halal food for Malay patrons maybe. It applied the same to Chinatown Complex, I was able to see Warung Soto. Space of the stall was small, it was running by a Malay elderly couple. Well-maintained overall, it appeared hygiene neatly. A traditional Malay dish filled up mainly by steamed compressed rice cakes, some of them called it Ketupat, in a mild Coconut vegetable yellowish Curry. Rice cake was packed in Banana Leaf before cutting into small cubes, thus it fragrantly infused. Craving over with the spicy aromatic dish, it warm and hearty. Curry with mild coconut savoury poured on top, veggies were all cooked to soft and delightful texture. Good bowl of Lontong, smooth milky and firmly touches to the rice cakes while it was not too diluted. Price was reasonably $2.50, like it but portion was slightly lesser. continue reading
