This is one of the newer and popular snacks, I always notice a queue for egglets at the bugis outlet. I was in a hurry so I got the plain egglet which they had already prepared and left there - wasn't that crispy when I brought it home, so do consume it immediately upon purchase. Egglet was average, not fragrant. I have tried the one with pork floss previously and it was better. They also have other flavours like chocolate and cheese. continue reading

I tried their Hong Kong Egglet at the outlet at Jurong Point, and got myself hooked. However Jurong Point is really too out of the way for me, so this time round I made my way to White Sands. All the flavours on the menu - Original, Pizza, Cheese, Chicken Floss and Shrimp, are all made from the same original batter, just added with different toppings, except for Chocolate. The batter for the latter is standalone - chocolate batter, and I wondered how different it would be from the usual.Chocolate Egglet, $2.50Made from Chocolate batter and chocolate chips.Being a cheese lover, I also ordered another Cheese Egglet.I think the standard of this outlet in White Sands pales in comparison to their Jurong Point counterpart. Their batter is so watery that the moment the assistant poured it into the egglet pan, some splashed out from the sides - I knew I couldn't expect too much of it. I find that they are also not very skilled in controlling the preparation of the egglet; I witnessed the assistant messing up and having to throw away 2 pieces. Here's showing that there wasn't enough control over the batter to "close" the egglet properly. The texture was a disappointment, when I ate it, the egglet "crushed down" in my mouth as if it was hollow. I feel the lack in chocolate taste didn't make the cut for this chocolate egglet; not only that, it also dilutes the fragrance of the original batter, which would otherwise have been savory. continue reading

It looks nice when I first saw how they made it!It's chocolate favoured flour instead if the normal one, and they also added chocolate chips into the individual egglets ;DWaiting time was a little long when there is a queue. It’s pretty amazing how it became crispy just seconds after blowing it with the fan.Ordered the chocolate flavoured one and it’s served crispy and freshly made I like the taste of it! It’s like milky chocolate with a taste like milo. It's puffy inside the egglets, and it can remain fresh for some time as long as you don't enclose it in the bag.It would be great if the price were to be lower;D continue reading
