Nasi lemak is one of the traditional breakfast that we used to eat. When it comes to nasi lemak, old town white coffee offers one of the best nasi lemak. This plate of nasi lemak is well presented and is very appealing. Firstly, the rice is well cooked, soft and fluffy texture and comes with a nice pandan leaves and coconut fragrance. Next the chicken wing is nicely done and has a crispy texture. Seasoning wise is slightly too salty. As for the egg, it is overcooked as the egg yolk has a slight grey layer. next for stir fried beehoon with the sambal cuttlefish, the sambal for the cuttlefish is too oily and the sambal itself is slightly too salty as well. As for the beehoon, it is pretty well cooked and is topped with the egg slices and other garnish.   continue reading

Baby wanna go City Square Mall for dinner she love to go Streats unfortunately is closed for renovation so we use their shopping mall guide to see where we can dine in. We spotted OldTown White Coffee and well since is been sometimes we dine in Oldtown we decided to go for it. The furniture and the signboard attracted my attention! I love the place cos it always bring back memories about how our old coffee shop look like in Singapore back in the 70s & 80s! We were shown to our seats immediately when we walk in looking at the menu, I have in mind what to go for ... and notice that they actually have one set which was quite cost saving! Baby ordered set 1 and it consists of Chicken Horfun, 7-up and Red Bean Sundae.Very nice and plain kind of food which is suitable for children. Tried one mouth of it and Soup was flavourable and baby simply love the soup and horfun! Red bean sundae was actually vanilla ice cream top with red bean paste which was quite a nice combination! Goh ordered Set 3 which is Curry Mee, Mountain Dew and Ice kacang. Goh find the mee was not very well cook and is quite hard, not very spicy and gravy not very thick. Ice kachang was not really fantastic so so only nothing to rave about! As for me I ordered Set 4 and that was Prawn Mee, Lemon Tea and Coffee Lava. Prawn mee was so so as well the soup was tad salty! But good thing is that I have an awesome dessert to compensate the not so nice main meal! COFFEE LAVA! Icecream that was submerge inside the coffee. It was strong, creamy feel and the after taste of it was kinda chocolatey! Thumbs up for it best for ice cream and coffee lover! Overall we spent $43.20 inclusive of GST and service charge continue reading

I got some vouchers, so came here with my mum for breakfast. I find that their coffee there's a thick creamy foam on top, but tasted just so-so. Their kaya and butter toast was a bit darker coloured than other stalls' bread. Soft boiled egg was a disappointment, was not really well cooked,a bit watery when I broke it. Their food was just so-so, nothing to shout about.Service was alright but a bit pricey due to the small portions. continue reading

Having dinner at City Square Mall, near Farrer Park MRT. My second time to visit here, intend to try other dishes. Ordered by Him, Nyonya-style Supreme Rendang Chicken Nasi Lemak. Rendang gravy was tasty, full of fragrance of spices. The rice portion was quite huge. Sambal Chili was gorgeous red spicy and the Acha was flavourful. Besides, crispy Ikan Billis and Keropok was awesome too. It costed $10.20. One of the signature food at Oldtown, savoury Asam soup. It was sour, sweet and a bit spicy. Chicken, Tuna, Long Beans, Onions, Eggs and vegetables were added inside. It costed $8.50.This is special for 2013 Reunion Set ($9.90). There are eight ingredients on top of the rice. I will try it next time maybe. continue reading
