My friends and I decided to have a drink on Christmas Eve. We headed to Brussels after dinner. We were approached by the staff to try on their Christmas special menu. I decided to give it a try on the special edition appetizer called Magnum & Vienetta @S$18++. It is actually the white asparagus & parma ham with vienetta ice-cream and foie gras & almond magnum. The combination triggers my interest so I decided to give it a try. I was quite disappointed with the presentation and the portion given. As for the taste wise, I don’t feel the combination taste right. White asparagus with the vienetta ice-cream taste bland and the parma ham tasted much more stronger. Taste of the foie gras is there but I think the combination with magnum ice-cream tasted weird. I can’t taste the magnum taste too. continue reading

Mussels madness goes on every day, but the time changes depending on which day of the week And it’s super!!Choose from either 2 pots of starter sized mussels ($30) or 2 pots of main size ($60). erm, dont look at the quantity on the website -.- It’s not accurate. but anyway, we the starter sized pot with 12pcs in each, to share between the two of us and it was just nice there are so many sauces to choose from! and i think i’ll be back someday to try out more ^^ we got the Meridionale which was a flavourful blend of onion, parsley, butter, saffron, tomato, garlic, herb de provence and olive oil. It reminded me so much of pasta sauce!!! uber delicious. and the tom yam sauce too packed a delicious punch with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, lobster consomme and prawns (yup there were prawns in it too! extra seafooooooood!). You can totally scoop up the sauce with the ladle to drink. *slurpssss* The mussels madness also comes with a free flow of thick-cut, crispy chunky chips. Look at their fat and filled with potatos french fries! It really look tempting, isn't it ? There are three different sauce for you to choose from to dip your french fries inside. They are hunter sauce, curry tomato sauce, garlic saffron! If you have ordered a pot of mussels or what, i actually dipped the it inside the sauce of the mussel, which taste perfectly nice too! I met up with my friends at this place to try out something different. I ordered the Vin Blanc pot of mussels (main size - $38.50) and it tasted really refreshing as recommended by the waitress on duty. The mussels and fries set comes with free flow of fries which I must say tasted pretty ordinary. I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant's provision of an in-house magician who performed amazing magic acts right before our very eyes. Not only that, there was also a live choir which sang a variety of Christmas carols which definitely added to the festive mood. The service staff attended to us promptly and I felt really comfortable and entertained at this dining venue.Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience at this restaurant as I feel engaged in all my senses and I will definitely return to this place in the near future. continue reading

A couple of friends and I wanted to try out this place since we heard alot about their mussels and clams. They had a wide variety of choices to choose from. We went with White wine instead. We ordered a mixture of mussels and clams and the sauce was quite delicious but unfortunately, it was not served piping hot. Just lukewarm. It would taste much better if they were served warmer. All the mussels were served with french fries. The fries were really good! Fat and juicy! We ordered a few sides as well. Escargots, Beef wrapped with bacon and deep fried shrimps. All the sides tasted well, especially the deep fried shrimps. The shrimps were really crispy on the outside and fresh on the inside. Overall, their service was very satisfactory as well. After having the food, we requested a change of a table to the outdoor setting. It was pretty crowded on a friday night but they accommodated to our request nonetheless. Another added advantage to this place is that, they have a very comprehensive list of beer. For beer lovers out there, this is a must-try place for you. continue reading
