Introduction
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has grown into one of the largest privately-owned, family-run coffee and tea companies in the world. Along the way, The Bean, as it is affectionately known, has become the model for a successful coffee and tea company. The coffee is roasted fresh daily in small batches in a manual European roast style, then packed using state-of-the-art equipment for shipment in the roasting facility and delivered fresh daily to the stores. continue reading

This is their Christmas season toffee nut ice blended latte. I ordered the medium cup at $7.90 nett. The taste was terrible and it is very diluted. All I could drink is bland sugared taste , there wasn't any toffee nut taste. The queue was so long that I waited for 20 minutes before I can collect the drink and it was hard to find a seat. After we had settled down, the table was full of plate and cups that was not cleared. My experience with coffee bean in Vivo was terrible and I will not visit them again. continue reading

My all time favorite cake from Coffee Bean - Chocolate of a Thousand Leaves cake! Not sure why they name this cake to that name, but I think is because there's more than five layers to the cake that's why? Anyway, I will always order this cake to go along with my coffee back then but due to disappointment with Coffee Bean (their frappe/ice blended is way tooooo sweet!) I stopped patronizing the place for quite sometime. I order this cake for dessert as we are looking for a place to sit and rest our legs after all the shopping at Vivo. Since Coffeebean has the least number of diners, we decided to take a rest there. The cake still taste good and similar from what I had before, sweet with hazelnut cream and I like the bits of wafer texture in it. One slice of the cake is full enough for 1 pax. Could be better if the cake is more moist than it it now. continue reading

Coffee Bean does not have service charges nor additional GST so I was not expecting the food to be served to me. However, I was asked to take a seat and the food delivered to my table by the wait staff. Another surprise was the the huge portion of the Fettucine ($10.50). It seemed bottomless! The crispy garlic bread served on the side added a lovely touch to my meal. continue reading

The seating area of this outlet is located away from its counters and kitchen, right in front of the escalators. If you don't like to have an 'audience' while, there are always seats further in. The staff were quite efficient at stocking the things at the self-serve counter so kudos to them.Because it was dinner time, I ordered the Chicken Risotto ($11.50). I really like the side salad that was served and the Risotto was also very flavourful. I noticed that not many people ordered the food items but maybe they should start. continue reading

I used to have meals at Coffee Bean a lot when I was still in secondary school. We used to go to the outlet at Holland Village to eat and hang out after school. It's probably been more than 5 years since I last had breakfast here, so I decided to try out their Eggs Benedict before heading into Sentosa for a company retreat. I guess I was right not to eat at Coffee Bean anymore, since our palates become a little bit more picky as we grow up. The egg was a little overcooked - I would have preferred the yolk to be gooey and runny. The salad was also too sour and did not compliment the meal. I'm usually alright with sour salad dressings, but this salad just did not go very well with the breakfast. And since it is Christmas season, I also ordered myself a Peppermint Mocha Ice Blended. And after the hearty breakfast, I scooted off to Sentosa for some fun in the sun! continue reading
