I have tried this tom yum noodles quite a few times, and I reckon their standard is a bit fluctuate. One day the soup is very rich but on another day, the soup might not be flavourful enough. Perhaps the amount of tom yum paste they used is different? Anyway, it is still my favourite food especially on a rainy day. It is quite well-balanced dish in which you get noodles, vegetables, minced meat and an egg in the bowl. continue reading

Most of the time I go to Bishan J8 food court, I order minced pork noodles from the stall. The noodles is hand-made thin noodles. The sauce is made of mince pork, carrots, green beans, corns & tofu. All ingredients are chopped in small cubes and mixed well with fermented soya bean paste. The 'ikan bilis' is very nice & crunchy. So I always request to have 'ikan bilis'. Every time, the assistant would say it does not go with 'ikan bilis', but she still gives.Their 'dao xiao mee' is nice too. The noodles is elastic, not soggy at all. While waiting for my noodles, I enjoy also the chef to 'xiao' noodles from the dough. continue reading

could not decide what to eat in the food court so finally settle on tom yam u main from formosa. the portion of noodle was really quite big and the tom yam soup tasted not too bad, was not as spicy as i imagined. i also like the noodle texture, was much softer than the normal ban mian which tend to be more coarse. on the whole, i think the noodle tasted not too bad and worth to try again continue reading
