Cream Puff

Beard Papa is well known for its signature cream puffs. I like the Strawberry one ($3.50) with its smooth and luscious Strawberry-flavoured custard bursting out from within a light pastry. The custard doesn't taste too sweet and the pastry outside is fluffy and light.Tried the new flavour, Chocolate Gianduja ($3.50) which tasted actually like the hazelnut cream in Ferrero Rocher It was a welcoming change of flavour but I still prefer Strawberry puff It is surely refreshing as one bites into the puff, it crumbles and generous helpings of chilled custard cream oozes out. It would be wonderful if the price is lower hehe continue reading

This vanilla flavour puff is my all time favourite choice when having a gatherings with friend and relatives. The puffs are very fluffy and soft in texture and the fragrant from it is really nice. Love the generous amount of vanilla cream in it which is not too sweet and blend in really well with the fluffy puffs. At less than two dollars per piece, this is certainly a great deal for everyone. continue reading

Beard Papa is a puff that I really enjoy eating. The cold custard cream which is in between of the puff is cold and not too sweet. The puff is hot and a little crispy. It is very fresh, as compared to Malaysia’s Beard Papa, I believe Singapore’s beard papa is more tasty. Beard papa – buy 5 get 1 free: $12 continue reading

I first tasted Beard Papa's when I was in my Secondary School days when Beard Papa's was a big hit in the Takashimaya basement outlet. Back then, I liked it but didn't really know how to appreciate it - just like how I misread Beard Papa's as Bread Papa's back then. A few days back, I walked pass and decided to grab a box home. A box comes in 6 flavours, buy 5 get 1 free at $12. There are only 2 flavours: chocolate and vanilla. The cream custard inside is so rich and filling that make it very heavenly and peak up one's spirit. This cream puff is an excellent choice for high tea! Even when you stall it in the fridge for a day, it still taste so perfect with the outer layer still puffy. After having such an awesome cream puff I went to google it and found out that there's actually more flavour in other countries - coffee, green tea, pumpkin, earl grey tea and strawberry. If only the Singapore franchise outlet has more flavours...Nonetheless, contented with the 2 original flavours! continue reading

My best friend and I treated some of our friends to beard papa sweets the other day. We bought a box of six cream puffs each. As we could not meet them on the day itself, I place my box of six into the fridge. I took it out the next day for breakfast and it was kind of frozen. The custard tasted like some vanilla ice cream. It was very milky and thick. Well I guess I found another way to enjoy such delicious dessert from beard papa! continue reading
