You know what, some food does more than sustain us. Especially through the alchemy of smoke and time, there was food that really can also nourish our soul. I ordered Satay as my appetizer before dinner. Most traditional meat for Satay was chicken, and the chef at this stall was obviously experienced. The Satay was not over-cooked, chicken’s texture was just nice. I like the gravy here, full of peanuts aroma, it was not too salty or spicy. Reasonable price, $0.60 per stick with minimum 10 sticks ordered. continue reading

This stall caught my eyes from the position I sat. I loved eating fried chicken especially the Ayam Penyat. I had to order this to share with my partner since we both had already eaten. A closer look at the stall reveals the many styles the chickens was cooked. The chicken was fried nicely till golden brown. I don't quite like the breast meat they served, when I bit off the meat it was very dry. I should have asked for the thigh instead. The sambal sauce tasted very power, not too spicy for my liking. The bowl of soup comes standard for every dish we order. At least this has some vegetables in it.The price is $5.80 for a nice meal. continue reading

FoodIndonesian BBQ stall is quite common to be seen in most food court nowadays. However, each food court Indonesian BBQ standard varies. As the name stated, "BBQ", it attracts lots of attention as the ones who are preparing food are having the BBQ session right on spot at the stall. The BBQ smoke that is lingering around in the whole food court and the fragrance of the marinated chicken has already gotten hold of one's appetite when one is deciding what to have for their meal while walking around in the food court.I have ordered a BBQ chicken with rice, vegetables and egg at $5.30. My rice was covered with thick black sauce from the BBQ chicken and some curry gravy offered by the stall helper.Chicken meat was adequate - meat given was the thigh area and a thin nasi lemak slice of egg is provided as well. No sign of overcooked and every portion on the chicken is cooked evenly! Perfect! The cabbages/vegetables marked down the overall points given to this meal just because it wasnt served warm. Soup is tasty and not peppery, goes very well with the dish. ServiceSelf service at the counter, the helpers are very chatty among themselves during their spare time.AmbienceA well organized air conditioned food court with panoramic view of the city live in Singapore, especially when you sit near the glass panels. Spacious with a very wide range of Singapore delicacies. PricePrice should be acceptable dinning at air conditioned food court - huge portions justify its great value. continue reading

The Galleria Foodcourt @ Marina SquareThe indonesian Chicken Rice was very tasty, I wished there were more sauce to go with the rice and more rice to go with the chicken! Chicken was very tender and juicy the level of char-ness is just right, everything was perfectly cooked and well presented as shown in photo. I would say it's value for money especially in this area. continue reading
