Was craving for some sushi so we came to sakae sushi for dinner at lot1. i was quite disappointed with the quality of the food this time round.the egg and the seaweed was not very fresh. it tastes like it has been there for a few days. the seaweed is very soggy.fried tofu was fine. quite average though. not enough sauce was given. the only good thing that i have here is the sashimi. at least it is fresh and chewy.the charwamushi was quite tasteless. doesn't taste like the normal charwamushi that i have in other japanese restaurant. and also when it wasn't hot upon serving. was really disappointed.also, both the skin of the fried crabmeat and the maki sushi wasn't crispy enough. overall, i am quite disappointed with sakae sushi standard. it used to be not bad. May reconsider again to patronize sakae sushi in future.  continue reading

Really had to eat some sushi the other day! I didn't waste any stomach space ordering the ramen, side sishes, etc. Devil's Maki ($12.99)This sounds really interesting and at first I thought it would be flaming hot. But nope! This maki came in a set of 8 and consisted of salmon, cheese, cucumber and lady's finger. Salmon sashimi was slightly seared, i like how it's like half cooked and half-raw. Cheese Maki ($4.29)I like the cheese and prawn combination. Both of my favourite food! The crepe also added to the delicious-ness of the sushi. Salmon Mayo Maki ($4.29)This was a new dish, salmon mayonnaise in beancurd skin. Not very special but if you like salmon, do give it a try! SUSHI CRAVING SATISFIED! continue reading

Tried some interesting creations at Sakae the other day. This is the Hotate Bliss Set ($13.99) that comes with a bowl of rice and soup. The Hotate Bliss is made up of one scallop and a few chicken chunks on a piece of brinjal. I'm not sure how anyone can stuff the whole thing in their mouths so I ate it separately. It was ok overall. This is Okura with Ika Gunkan ($2.29). This sushi is SO slimy! The lady's finger on its own already contains some slime. This whole thing was just swimming in my mouth. Luckily for the rice to balance out the slime. Wouldn't order this again. This is the Salmon Kamaage ($2.29) which is basically the part of the salmon near the fin and also a piece of salmon meat. This is deep-fried and it is very crispy. Be careful when you eat it because it's hot! continue reading

Have been to this outlet many times and the service here is always spectacular. The wait staff are courteous, extremely attentive and are full of initiative. It makes us feel welcomed and we'll definitely keep patronising this outlet.Food-wise, I'm pleased to say that its quality standards have always been consistent. I love how they implement new items from time to time, and each time I visit there's something new to try.I think their mentaiko salmon sushi creations deserve special mention; I can never stop at one, or two, or three. continue reading

Met up with ex-colleague from McDonald's cos the last time we met was like 4 years ago! Since we have not been to Sakae Sushi for quite some time, we decided to have our dinner there. I'm pretty surprised to find Hotata Mentaiko $14.99 in Sakae Sushi! If you love Mentaiko, remember to order this on your next visit!I also quite like the Ika Karaage Agemono $8.99, but it's a little saltyApart from these 2, we also had the standard stuffs like sashimi & sushiService was quite prompt too! Manager on duty was also nice to shift us to a slightly bigger table upon request. continue reading
