Just happen to feel like munching something and also pass by this bakery stall.  Since there was no crowd or queue here, so have just grab a piece of yam bun from this stall to try. The stall was quite small but is still neat and clean. The counter lady was not really service oriented but is not rude as well, just no greeting and no smile from her.  In less than 2 minutes, I managed to pay money and grab the bun here.  The bun looks huge in portion and for $1.30 per piece, I was at that moment thinking very cheap.  However was surprise inside yam filling was totally dry and very sweet, infact the yam filling was also too little as well.  The bun's texture was alright but was also abit dry in texture as well.  Disappointing.  continue reading

This bakery is rather popular as I spotted a short queue in the late afternoon. It might be a viable contender to Barcook as it also has Nachos Cheese bread and liu sha bao. I got the Nachos Cheese Bread which costs $1.50 - you can see the liquid nachos flowing out after heating the bun - it's very tasty with mashed potato and ham within, and the nachos not too overpowering. I also liked the ma ti su which costs $0.80 each, a pastry well done. continue reading

I would like to introduce you to this awesome bakery which has a few outlets in Singapore. One of it was located at Queen Street! I was there today to try out the bakery myself. Bought their potato cheese bread to try out! It actually taste pretty awesome. I could not figure out why they need to "poke" a hole in the bread, but when you look inside, u can see thick layer of melted cheese. The whole bread taste very cheesy and soft , feels freshly baked. On top of that, I liked the potatoes in it! It was soften to an extend that was so easy to bite even for the elderly. Each bun costs $1.50, I think is slightly too expensive especially for a neighborhood area. continue reading
