The FoodI ordered the traditional soon kueh (steamed Chinese dumpling with rice flour skin and chopped turnip filling) which is handmade on the spot and served piping hot. As I bite into the soon kueh, I feel that the ingredients inside are very fresh and tasty and was amazed by the generous variety and superior quality of the ingredients which ranged from crunchy turnip strips to mushroom, carrot and fragrant dried shrimps. I also liked the skin as is thin, chewy and soft too! The PriceReasonably priced at 80 cents per pieceOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this! continue reading

This stall is owned by a chatty lady boss. I always ended up spending a bit of time chatting with her whenever i was there. All the kuehs are handmade right at the stall. Their signature has to be the soon kueh but trust me, their glutinous rice cake is equally good. You can call them to make reservation if you do not want to be disappointed. I always ended up with a dozen of soon kueh and a dozen of glutinous rice cake whenever i am there. The chilli and the sweet dark sauce are provided to go with the kueh. continue reading

I love the freshness of the kuehs since it is all freshly prepared on on the day itself. This helps to retain the qq nature of the skin of the kueh. I ordered the peng kueh or rice kueh. It is white in colour unlike those commerical ones which are pink. The kueh skin is thin and the stall is not stingy with their fillings. I love dipping the peng kueh into the sweet black sauce and the saltish chilli. The ingredients in the peng kueh are quite evenly spread out as well. I can taste mushrooms and shrimp in almost every bite. continue reading

Ah Yee's Soon Kueh is good! The skin is very delicate and thin, while the fillings is generous! I totally love the fillings. Very flavourful and the shrimps really helped to enhance the taste of the fillings! Their sauce is good too! they have the sweet black sauce and chilli which really complemented the soon kueh well. Yum! continue reading
