The fried prawn dish (炒虾煎) is an alternative to the traditional fried oyster dish, suitable for those who are not so used to eating oysters. I have personally patronised both stalls selling similar dishes in the hawker centre and the fried prawn and oyster dishes at this stall has an edge over the other. The egg in the dishes has an extra crispy texture to it and the seafood is fresher than many others I have tasted. I will recommend this stall to people who is heading the food centre for dinner. This stall also serve other dishes such as fried tang hoon, mee goreng and also fried bee hoon. All of these dishes are served up with fresh seafood and the noodles are tasty and fragrant. continue reading

We seated right next to this stall. This stall is offering Fried Oyster Omelette, Fried Prawn Omelette, Fried Hokkien Mee, Fried Kway Teow, Fried Carrot Cake and Fried Tang Hoon. Most items are in the selection of $3, $5,$8 and $10.Fried Prawn Omelette seems to be an interesting choice as most stalls do not have it. I decided to have it at $3. I ordered, given my table and proceeded to wait at the table. It was served in 10 minutes on a disposable plate with disposable chopsticks. This stall is not as popular as other stall offering the same items so the waiting time is rather short. I would think the portion is justifiable for $3. A generous amount of egg is added to make it desirable. The egg then incorporated with the right proportion of tapioca flour and pan-fried well to give it the awesome crispiness. It was garnished with spring onions to enhance its flavor. A saucer of their special chilli is served along with it. The level of spiciness of the chilli was not dominating. It does added flavor when lightly dipped pieces of egg omelette into it. There were only 3 pieces of prawns in it though but it somewhat justified the price. Though not the best but it is quite an appetising dish to have it as side. My dinner partner did not think too highly of it though. continue reading
