It's been awhile since I had ah balling and I bought back 2 bowls of assorted tangyuans in peanut soup, one for my mom and one for myself! Peanut and Sesame are the usual filling that people buy and I love both! This is my first time trying the yam and greentea filling! The yam was so disappointing as the filling is so little and I could barely taste any yam. In contrast, the greentea tangyuan is super good!! I find it so yummy that I could just have all my tangyuans filled with greentea! continue reading

While most chinese dessert close early at night, this Ah balling stall was still opened at 9.30pm when I went for supper. There was a queue, but the service was fast. There is a choice of soup (Ginger, Peanut or Almond) and 5 different flavors of ah balling, ie, glutinous rice to choose from. Out of the 5, the most unusual one is the green tea flavor, which unfortunately ran out. I had peanut soup with sesame and yam ah balling. Even though it is a small bowl of dessert, it is very filling. The yam filling is very nice, almost like the texture of yam paste but without the overwhelming sweetness. Each bite is oozing with the ingredient. continue reading

This is my favourite tang yuan stall. I ordered 5 tangyuan with almond milk for 2.20 which i think is rather reasonably priced. There are a few flavours to choose from - yam, green tea, red bean, sesame, peanut but i personally prefer sesame and peanut. The tangyuan is chewy and the sesame and peanut paste will ooze out which you bite the tangyuan lightly. There are also choices for the soup, almond milk, ginger and peanut. I chose the almond milk, which goes well with the tangyuan and not too sweet. Highly recommended for tangyuan lovers! continue reading

Walked over to Blk85 market after buying kuehs at Lek Lim Nonya Cake. While my friends get a cup of drink each, I opt for a bowl of rice ball dessert. Like the springy rice balls & the texture is very nice. Soft & chewy yet not sticky. Peanut filling is fragrant too. The weather ain't very good the past few days due to the haze, I opt for ginger soup instead of the peanut soup. Ginger soup is very nice, with quite a few of ginger bits in the soup, but not too spicy. continue reading

I told hubby I wan to eat ah balling dumpling balls and he drives me to 85 market at bedok to buy.. was a little disappointed when I reached coz my favourite yum filling dumpling balls left the last piece and I have to mix with peanut filling dumpling.. will definitely go back for my favourite yam filling dumpling balls again soon...The yam filling dumpling ball. One thing great about ah balling dumpling balls are the springy texture of the balls. With the not so sweet yet fragrant yam filling, the dumpling ball taste awesome especially eaten with their peanut soup. The soft peanut enhance the taste of the soup. continue reading
