1st, I would like to say, spending is definitely not under $10 if you have intention of ordering at least 3 dishes. 2nd, the environment at there was alright. Since it was rather pack with people. But it is nice to see dim sum available in the food court itself. Now, I would say why i would suggest spending is more than $10 if you are ordering at least 3 dishes.I was there for my lunch toady with my mum and aunties after coming back from RWS. I was the only one who decided to order from here since the food look rather tempting. Note, it LOOK rather tempting. Never get deceived by the LOOK of the food because it really tasted awful. Well, I feel that I was highly overcharged. I ordered a fish, pork and hot dog and it cost me $10.70.Imagine that portion of pork and hot dog cost me $3 each.Moving on, I will talk about the taste. You could see the smoke like it was piping hot at the stall. Apparently, it wasn't. It was all cold when I sat down with my food to eat. The fish does not look as appealing as it look like. Instead, it was hard. It was so hard that it was very difficult to bite. Apparently, I spit it out after biting it. I probably just tasted the pepper and it was impossible to swallow it.Next, will be the pork chop. It was so little that when I eat, it was alright but not fantastic. Just, so-so. But it was too cold. continue reading

This foodcourt near the monorail to Sentosa is usually so crowded that I want to get in and out as quickly as possible... that said, when I want a quick meal before heading to Sentosa I usually make a beeline for the Scissor Cut Curry Rice stall which also serves the usual economic mixed rice items.1 steamed rice + 1 meat + 1 veg + 1 soup broth = $3.20That's definitely as cheap of a complete meal you're going to get in VivoCity. It's nothing memorable, but since the foodcourt is so busy it tends to be fresher and hotter than the mixed rice you get elsewhere. On my most recent visit (as seen in the photo), I got sweet and sour pork and some kind of green veg. The portion was pretty generous, but I didn't finish it because the taste is just so bland (the dominant flavor is salty!). If you are going to eat here, stick with their namesake dish and get the chicken or pork chop with curry sauce. continue reading

I had my dinner with my colleague here and I was the only one who ordered from this stall. Tried their fried rice and added one dish which is the chili prawns, when the cashier was typing out the receipt, I was shocked! The bill comes to $7.80. Before I was ordering, I used my iPhone to take photo of the stall. Perhaps, the guy who took my order saw it, he even told me that the long beans was free for me. Not only is it expansive, the food is not that nice either, definitely not worth my $7.80. The soup wasn't hot but was warm and turns completely cold when I drink it after I finish my rice. The plate of fried rice was too big a potion to finish. Seems like they are clearing the leftovers. The prawns was not fresh and too spicy. Only the long bean is nice. When I complained to my colleagues, they told me that I ordered the wrong dish and I should try their pork chop, more famous. So, I can't say that they are not good cause maybe I really ordered the wrong dish. continue reading
