Been a long time since I ate kfc again. There was not any student meal available on weekends so the price was a bit more expensive. I ordered the chicken zinger meal with fries and it was a bit disappointing that the fries were cold. The zinger was smaller than what I have eaten before too. Chicken was fresh from the oven and juicy but the bread was cold. continue reading

After McDonald's Japanese offering with the Ebi Burger, we now have KFC catering to Korean food lovers with their new seasonal Spicy Korean Craze burger and chicken. Naturally, being a fan of all things Korean, I couldn't resist giving this a try. We went on a weekday for dinner and the place was pretty crowded, but we managed to grab a seat so we could enjoy our dinner at the fast food outlet instead of taking away our food. We got the Spicy Korean Box which came with the Spicy Korean Burger, one Spicy Korean Crunch, a cup of Lemonade and Mashed Potato. You can also add $1.00 to "upsize" the Mashed Potato to their Spicy Korean Shaker Fries. As we have not tried their newly revamped French Fries before, we took the chance to upsize our meal as well. Spicy Korean Box: Spicy Korean Burger + Spicy Korean Crunch + Korean Shaker Fries + Lemonade (Upsized $9.80)Spicy Korean Burger Mentioned "Spicy Korean" food and admittedly, the first thing I think of is Kimchi. I was kind of expecting the food to be either really very spicy or had a hint of kimchi to it. However, the Spicy Korean Burger was basically Zinger burger but with the additional "Korean" sauce, which wasn't all that spicy despite the name. It was more sweet than spicy, perhaps due to the presence of the mayonnaise. We both thought that the burger needed more sauce on it for the extra flavour. The zinger chicken though, was crispy and crunchy and yet still tender on the inside. Spicy Korean Crunch This fared much better than the burger. The crispy chicken was glazed with yet another sweet and spicy Korean sauce and then sprinkled with sesame seed. It was noticeably sweeter and spicier than the burger. Despite the glaze of the sauce, the chicken still maintained its crunchiness. Yummy!Korean Shaker Fries The new fries were slightly more thicker and crunchier than their previous offering, which I supposed was an improvement, although I preferred their previous fries to dip and eat with my mashed potato. The seasoning for the shaker fries was not spicy at all, like we expected, but had a slight tinge of sourness to it, which I thought was a little like kimchi. We agreed that this was quite okay although I found that I personally preferred the fries better plain. LemonadeThe lemonade was a good choice of drink to include with the meal as it was very refreshing and helped to cool our tongues after all that spices! Chocolate Lovers' Cake ($2.00)Not many people (at least among my friends) seemed to know that KFC is also offering Chocolate Cake for the reasonable price $2.00. I myself only found out when browsing their website, so I just had to get this cake to try. This cake totally fell short of expectations. The website showed a cake with a lava core, but the one I got did not have any Chocolate inside. Not sure if the cake was supposed to be just a plain cake contrary to what was advertised on the website, or if the staff way overheated it resulting in the lack of lava core. It was also kind of small (though kind of expected given the price) and was more like a chocolate muffin instead. Sorely disappointing considering that this packed over 300 calories for such a small size! Overall, I'd recommend sticking to what KFC are famous for - their fried chicken. If you are interested in being part of KFC's "Spicy Korean Craze", then the Spicy Chicken Crunch seemed to be a safer bet for its taste, at least it was for our case. The entire set, at nearly $10.00 (not including cake), was rather steep in our opinion for a fast food set, especially since the entire meal seemed to be based off existing food on the menu like the zinger burger. continue reading

I actually have no idea when KFC rolled out the limited time offer on the Chocolate Banana Pancakes, but after seeing the advertisement on the newspaper, I just knew I have to try it out.On first look, the Chocolate Banana Pancakes ($2.95 for set meal, including Iced Milo) are slightly thicker than the standard pancakes size that KFC serves. The batter has bananas mixed into it, which gives off a light sweetness that does not cloy in the throat even when maple syrup is drizzled on top. It was also rather consistent in texture and not too crumbly nor mushy; done just right. The chocolate seemed to be chocolate chips or chocolate buttons, melted into the pancake to provide the flavour and was reasonable in serving. This definitely would not be the best of the best you can get out there, but at the price of $2.95, it certainly brings a lot of bang for your buck and definitely the best value you can get.For more photos and the full review, please visit: http://jiaksimipng.wordpress.com/2013/10/27/chocolate-banana-pancakes-from-kfc-singapore/ continue reading

Today I'm writing 4 Fried Chicken review which I had it...Since young, I have simply love the great finger tasting licking good original chicken pieces...I always make sure to finish off all the chicken skin which is cooked just so fragrantly and crispy... The taste is addictive and a nice cold cup of ice lemon tea is good companion, Of course not forgetting the coleslaw. After trying other brands of Fried chicken...I'm sorry KFC, they are way too better! I haven't got the chance to try Jollibee though. continue reading

It cost only $2.95 which includes 2 blueberry pancakes, 1 hashbrown and scrambled egg.Craving for some pancakes so I decided to try out the quite new blueberry pancakes from KFC. It was my first time trying pancakes, YEAH, FIRST TIME, not even the famous hotcakes from mcdonalds. Kinda not attracted to the plain look of hotcakes/pancakes thus never really feel like trying, until recently, I started craving for pancakes, especially with blueberry bits inside.Never eaten original pancakes before thus I cannot compared it with the blueberry pancakes. But the blueberry pancakes are actually quite tasty, the thickness is just right and can taste tinge of blueberry flavour every bite and also quite a lot blueberry bits. The scrambled egg taste bland, even sprinkling lots of pepper provided on top does not help.Th hashbrown taste like normal hashbrown.Never use the butter and maple syrup provided to avoid extra calories intake. continue reading
