Ordered a salmon side dish as I wasn’t really hungry, while my friends tried out their ramen. It’s called the salmon croquette if I remembered correctly. It is served in a plate of 3 croquettes, at the price of $3.80.When it was served, it was warm and the outer was crispy ;DThe salmon filling was a little disappointing though, there isn’t much of a salmon taste…more of fish paste.I think they made the salmon in the form of paste, but would love it if there are more salmon.Since the salmon isn’t a lot and the size of the croquettes is not really big, it’s not really worth it.As for the ramen, I tried the soup and it’s quite tasteful and rich in taste. My friends had pretty positive comment on it too. So I guess it’s worth dining there after all for their main dishes.(: continue reading

this is the concept of the restaurant..their lunch crowd is gd..ordered some of the side dishes..fried toufu..it's crispy even when the dish is cold..not too oily..next for our side dishe is mayo prawns..it's crispy, not too oily..and has a very strong mayo taste..even when it turns cold..the last side dish is cheese scallop..we had abandon it and ate it only when its cold..so it doesn't taste that nice as the cheese has turned hard..but i guess it would be AWESOME to eat it while it's hot..next, i ordered curry ramen..before mixing the curry with the ramen, the soup is nice, but after mixing the curry with it,the soup is farrrr too salty.would be better if the fried chicken can be separated from the ramen,to prevent it turning soggy..1 of my friend order spicy chicken..she chose the 1 with 2 chillies..it's spicy enough..the chicken is being seperated,so it's not soggy..another friend ordered teriyaki chicken ramen with 2 chillies,i mean on the menu u can choose the level of chili u want, she said it's sufficient and spicy enough..she said the sauce for the chicken to be lesser will be better, cox at the amount given, it's too sweet..overall, it's nice..total spending is about $65 continue reading

Whenever I visit Beppu. I will never miss the chicken karaage are nicely deep-fried and they are so crispy and its Absolutely tasty chicken skin is one of the highlights of the chicken karaage. The fried chicken pieces do not go soggy. You are able to separate your fried chicken pieces from the ramen and place it on a plate provided. I choose level 2 spiciness for my ramen and I think that is my limit.Spicy ramen is the signature dish of Beppu Dining Restaurant so if you are able to eat spicy food, just go for that one. continue reading

Beppu Menkan Japanese Noodles has always been my favorite Japanese restaurant serving authentic Beppu style ramen. One thing about their ramen that make it so popular and special is you get to choose the amount of hotness for your ramen soup base, from the mild hotness of 1 chili all the way up to the super boiling hot 8 chili ramen. Other than ramen, they do serve other Japanese dishes such as Curry Katsu Rice, Udon, and another of their specialty, Paper Pot and Sukiyaki. Ordered their Fried Chicken Ramen (one of their signature dish) and chose a mild 2 chili hotness for my soup. With generous serving of the fried chicken (filling up the whole bowl covering the noodles) and cook to perfect ramen, it is a satisfying meal for me. Service wise was good, fast and attentive. Free edaname was served before your main course as appetizer and ice water is on the house. If you are craving for some really good ramen, you should give Beppu Ramen a try. continue reading
