This stall recently went through some changes. The signboard also had changed and food was changed, now selling mostly chicken rice in different style. But one unique thing about this stall they serve chicken rice on a very big plate which took up almost half the table. This was the first thing that caught my eye when I was there, the big plates.I had ayam rendang which was on display in the signboard. They served the entire chicken thigh; pour 3 big scoops of rendang on top of the chicken. Eating the rendang itself is not spicy but when you mix it with the chicken you can feel the level of spiciness goes up. On the side they have sliced pineapple with black soy sauce and special chilli paste to go along. The chicken very well marinated and tender. I was there in the evening the queue was pretty ok. But if you are there during lunch time be prepared to wait cos this is also a very popular dish with the office crowd there. continue reading

It was a joy to have discovered this stall. Most of the stalls closed on a Monday evening and i left with little choice for a quick dinner before proceed to an invited movie premiere. I was in the mood for spicy foods to spice up my life a little. Ayam Rendang Nasi Lemak indicated on their menu seemed to be a good choice. Such a set of Nasi Lemak is priced at $4.00. The chicken legs were all pre-cooked and waiting to be served. A reasonable portion of white rice was served with the chicken leg with a small bowl of soup served in a disposable bowl. A ladle of sambal was poured over the chicken leg before served with 3 slices of cucumber. It would be a better choice if the set is served with a piece of fried egg or a piece of fish cake or even a piece of tau kwa. A spoonful of belachan chilli was placed aside. The chicken leg was tender and soft with absolutely no difficulties in pulling apart the meat using fork and spoon. The spiciness of the sambal was just moderate. The belachan chilli was rather hot though. The good way to eat it is to mix it with rice to minimum the level of spiciness. A good choice for dinner. continue reading
