Located conveniently at Somerset 313, Yayoiken was easily being found when you took all the way down to Level B3. We were greeted by tempting displays of numerous foods in glass cabinet at Storefront, really made us craze. I quite loved the seat structure here, it was designed like cubicles and there were partitions separating the seats therefore offered a lot of privacy for patrons. Using high-tech Ipad to tap our desired dishes, orders were directly sent to kitchen. Service was rather quick, food were served up within 10 minutes time.Good balance of meal, my set consisted of Veggies, Meat, Miso Soup, Tofu and one bowl of rice. Shredded cabbages was crunchy and refreshing, it served chilled as healthy Salad. Ginger fragrance was richly burst out and well-blended with pork, spoonful Mayonnaise was put aside to enhance the overall taste. I ate along with fluffy hot rice, nothing to complain about. Plainly square-shaped of Tofu was tasteless, while soup was decently hearty-warm. Only $9.90 for a Japanese set meal, price sounded value for money. Wiser decision to dine here, I would strongly recommend Yayoiken. continue reading

My first visit to this restaurant despite seeing it for quite a number of times before. The food here is of good quality and quantity for its price. Placing order is simple and convenient with electronic panel just beside the table.Ordered a mixed toji set while my gf ordered yofu hamburg set. Both taste really good especially the mixed toji set. The mixed toji set is great for those who like to eat a variety of meats in one meal, it features sliced beef, fried prawn and tonkatsu, all simmered in egg and cooked to perfection! Hamburg set wise is comparable with other restaurants in singapore. In conclusion, the food taste really good and the price is quite affordable considering the spread. Really satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food. Shall visit it again soon! continue reading

Ordered the pork mix toji at $10.90. It is very normal, quite a disappointment compared to most of the Japanese restaurants I've been to. However for the price it is reasonable for the quality of food. What's interesting is the ordering system is fully automated where you can select the food you want without engaging with any of the staff. This makes it efficient but lose that personal touch of service. continue reading

Yayoiken is one of the places I hold dear memories of. I had my first meal in Tokyo Japan at one of its outlets. Quite a disappointment for me to find my experience in the Singapore outlet muted by food that were below standard! Ordered the Pork Mix Toji which came with ebi fry, sliced pork and pork cutlet.Pork has the frozen porky smell which is disgusting. It lingers in my mouth even after other items! I am not sure if I would step back into this place again. continue reading

I was craving for Japanese food and happened to chance upon Yayoiken so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Yofu hamburg set which looked rather promising on the menu. The set included a bowl of rice, side salad and the yofu hamburg. The prawn tempura was slightly soggy but still acceptable. The hamburger patty tasted rather mediocre. The portion would be quite big for a small eater so share with a friend if you have a small appetite! In my opinion, this was not worth a try. I'll rate it a 2.5/5 continue reading
