Daruma Ramen House was having their opening promotion by having a 1 for 1 ramen. The promotion was till 30th June and me and my friends mananged to go down to eat just before the promotion ended. The shop is located at TripleOne Somerset, and it is just behind 313 somermet. There wasnt any queue and we managed to get seats when we reached. On the menu, there were 3 different types of soup being offered- shoyu, spicy or tonkotsu and 2 different types of meat to choose from- either pork belly or barbecue pork or both. It's self service and we would have to walk up to the counter to order and pay first. Since is it self service, the price writen on the menu is nett. Therefore, the price is actually quite worth as me and my friends were having the 1 for 1 promotion. Since it is a promotion, both ramen ordered must be the same. Hence, we ordered 2 bowls of Tonkotsu pork belly and each paying $8.The food was served very fast. The soup was nice and the portion is just right for me. However, i do not really like the ramen. It is quite hard, i will prefer it to be softer. I feel that it is quite worth with the promotion price.Given the normal price, i think it is too expensive. continue reading

Daruma Ramen House offers pretty good Tonkotsu ramen. There was quite a short queue during lunchtime but turnover seems quite fast. As for the soup itself, the broth was pretty flavourful and the pork taste distinct. The pork meat itself was quite lean and therefore preferrable for me who prefers lean meat. The ramen itself was quite springy. As for the tamago (egg), it could be better if it was more liquid. continue reading

If you like ramen, you can try Daruma Ramen House helmed by a celebrity Hong Kong chef that specialises in Japanese ramen. The menu is not too extensive and the portions are quite small. However, there is an ongoing promotion of 1 for 1 which makes it worth trying. The ramen itself was not too bad and rather springy. We had the BBQ pork ramen and the BBQ pork itself has a Cantonese feel to it, with it being sweet and pretty well done. We will be back to try other offerings. continue reading
