Polar Puffs and Cakes has underwent a lot of transformation and transition from a small pastry shop to a popular bakery with several outlets located around Singapore.Besides their sugar rolls and cakes, they do serve pastries like chicken pie, curry puff, tuna puff and more. I got the Chicken Pie ($2.20) and it was still warm when i ate it. I love the flaky buttery skin and the chunks of chicken and other assorted ingredients like vegetables and mushrooms. It is quite a filling pastry but a bit expensive. There was a bit of a communication barrier when i told the staff i wanted chicken pie and when she said curry puff, i corrected her. At the cashier, i told her its one chicken pie but she said its curry puff and proceeded to change the food for me. continue reading

Swiss roll has always been one of my favourite. I love especially the different types of swiss rolls from Polar Puffs & Cakes. Amongst all of the swiss rolls available there, my favourite has to be the pandan flavour swiss roll and their signature sugar roll. Their texture is soft even if you keep it till the next day, it is still soft and nice. The sweetness level of the cake and cream is just right. Good for breakfast and snack. continue reading

It was my cousin's birthday today so all my cousins went over to give him a surprise which was kind of a failure.hahaha.Anyway,my aunt bought this Chocolate mousse cake from Polar puff and cakes. Have to say it isn't really one of my favourites because there was too much cream in it.The chocolate layer on top was good though!I felt that they could have added more cake instead of the cream.BUT that would defeat the purpose of calling it a Chocolate Mousse cake! So,this one's for the cream lovers! continue reading

I was on leave and went shopping with my friends till 4pm. I have nothing much to do and decide to call my hubby to see where he is located. He told me today he is running a project a pasir laba camp. I told him i don't mind to go to westside to look for him. He suggested to me to go jurong point to wait for him till he knock off. When i reached there, i was hungry. I went to the basement, and saw my favourite polar stall near NTUC and bought a swiss roll to eat. At 6.30pm,my hubby was done with his work and picked me up and went back home for dinner. The swiss roll is always so soft and tasty ;) continue reading
