Truly Singaporean! How can one miss out a traditional singaporean way of having a steamed yam cake as their breakfast. Dad had managed to grab the last 2 pieces of yam cake from the stall and had them "ta bao" for me. As usual, I had them as my breakfast with a disposable spoon on the way to work. The yam cake was cut into smaller chunks with sweet sauce and sesame seeds all over them. If I remembered correctly, they uses the same sauce with sesame for Chee Cheong Fun too. These small little chunks of yam cakes are well go and simple like any ordinary Yam Cake, little or no yam chunks were being bite on. I bet one could not carry on eating without the sauce to pair with it as these yam cakes are closed to tasteless. continue reading
