The husband and I headed to Marina Square for Lady M’s mille crepes but didn’t expect it to be closed that day. Since we already had lunch and was just looking for desserts, we settled for St. Marc Cafe which I recalled was featured in the local tv food programme, Snack Attack <<超级小吃赞>> a long while back and its croissants drew a lot of raving reviews.Saint Marc Cafe is a Japanese chain that serves up freshly brewed coffee, daily baked breads, ice creams, parfaits and more. Its first cafe opened in Tokyo in 1998 and it has over 300 outlets in Japan now.Saint Marc Cafe is best known for its signature chococro (‘chocolate croissant’) which is made of the ‘best blend of Ghana Beans and finest Ecuador beans’ (dark chocolate) wrapped with a flaky and buttery croissant dough. When I took one bite of the original Chococro, I was expecting it to ooze chocolate custard but the ratio of filling to crust was just miserable. Even though the chocolate was supposedly made from the finest cacao beans, the taste was no where near finesse. I thought the chocolate tasted weak, like it had been diluted with too much of other ingredients so its consistency was quite thick. However, the croissant dough itself was really good. It was rich in butter flavour without being too greasy and it was light, flaky and airy inside. Definitely one of the best croissant doughs I’ve had in Singapore. Even though the Chococros were put out on bread shelves for self-service, they were warm and crispy. The Matcha Daifuku Chococro consisted of the original crispy croissant filled with matcha custard, chocolate, red bean and mochi (sticky rice cake). I actually preferred this to the chocolate one because I could taste the sweetness of the soft red beans, the bittersweet fragrance of the matcha and the chewiness of the mochi that gave different textures with each bite.If Saint Marc could come up with plain croissants without any filling, I’d probably get more so I could enjoy them with tea. The croissant dough was amazing but the fillings were truly forgettable. For full review and pictures, please go to http://www.springtomorrow.com/2014/03/02/saint-marc-cafe-marina-square/

St. Marc’s is quite famous for its dessert! My friend recommended to try the Choco Cro and Little Fuji and it didn’t disappoint! The ice cream was so much that 2 people can share. It was creamy and nice to eat with the bread. The price is affordable too so this place is really good for after meals desserts and chilling.

Right after our steamboat dinner , we went to Level 2 ST.MARC CAFE to chill! TIME FOR DESSERT. Order a few dessert and share among , each portion of the dessert ~ their dessert cost roughly about $6.90 - $8.90we ordered the mango and strawberry flavor. The taste of these two is really too sweet. but overall it is nice. The look of the dessert look nice too. People who likes sweet stuff should head over to try their dessert.Mango: it is designed in a way below contain the ice and in the middle part they put on creamy mango sauce and after that with the fruit mango and designed ice cream . it is very tasty but yet too sweet.Strawberry : as for the strawberry dessert, it is design in a way that it contain more ingredient than the mango, dessert, it is very unique as on the top they put a lot ingredient such as banana, a chocolate stick , chocolate sauce over on the top of the whole dessert, the combine of all it just so heaven! Really very nice. You guys should try it .

My favourite desert of St Marc - Little Fuji. So it's actually a croissant topped off with vanilla ice cream, caramel and some tiny nuts. the combination is just perfect, especially when the sweet piping hot caramel croissant meets the freezing cold vanilla ice-cream.The chocolate and strawberry croissants taste good too, but not that crispy as Little Fuji, which is a little disappointing. The chocolate croissant cost $2.40 while that of strawberry costs 20 cents more, at a price of $2.60Their ice chocolate tastes great too! Thick blended chocolate with ice compliment well with the sweet deserts.Located at a small corner of Marina Square, St Marc Cafe is just like any other coffeehouse where one can sit down and chill with family/friends, with its awesome deserts. It's not very spacious and its seats are limited. So do expect full house during the weekends.

I was back at St. Marc after a birthday lunch with friends at Millenia Walk. I made my way to Marina Sq and bought a Mixed box of 3 Matcha daifuku croissants and 2 Choco Cro. I had signed up as a member via mobile and now enjoy 10% discount for every purchase.Matcha Daifuku $2.60This is similar to the Strawberry Daifuku which I previously had. It contains mochi, red bean and green tea chocolate instead of strawberry chocolate. It was not too bad, but I still prefer the strawberry ones. I hope they bring it back real soon.
