Have a gathering with my ex-colleagues in this Korean barbequed restaurant in Ang Mo Kio.  Before enter into the restaurant, I was already attracted by the cute little brick house decoration outside here. When we entered, the restaurant staffs are very pleasant and friendly.  We have ordered some pork and pork belly for barberque and also a big bowl of ginseng chicken to share.  Ginseng chicken was very flavourful and the chicken meat is very tender and juicy.   The conditiments are fresh, especially the broad greenish cabbage.  As for the pork belly, they are sliced very thinly and really fresh and chewy.  When after barberqued, you can really taste the wonderful flavour of the pork, especially the crispy pork skin. A pleasant meal as the restaurant is also quite cooling and spacious.  Paid in total $55 for our bill, value for money. continue reading

We were here 1 late afternoon and decided to try out this korean restaurant as it looked inviting. We ordered a army stew pot and fried seafood pancake to share. There was free iced water and a kimchi salad bar which was free flow.I was really excited to try the kimchi as i loves kimchi. However to my disappointment, the kimchi is not chilled and it was really sour. The other side dishes were very average as well. The pancake and stew tasted very normal too. continue reading

Saw an article regarding this newly opened Korean BBQ at Djitsun mall which stated that it served authentic korean food, so my two friends and I decided to head down to AMK to try it out that day.We ordered 3 sets of pork and chicken lunch set for $12.80+ per person. However we were so disappointed with the potion that was served. It looks more like it's for 2 person serving instead of 3. The soup served was barely a full bowl as well. The original red kimchi which was suppose to be known as the most popular one, turns out to be very dry and tasteless. In the end, non of us actually bother eating any side dishes other than the fresh veggie from the salad bar.The pork and chicken doesn't taste well marinated, and the free flow of side dishes doesn't look fresh at all. On top of that the staffs at Kkongdon wasn't attentive enough like what others had written in their review. They did not bother helping us to change the BBQ plate despite walking past a few times and knowing there are black stains on our plate.Definitely not going back to this place again since I feel that it was pricey for the amount of food served and it doesn't taste as good as other restaurants that is cheaper and has a buffet style. continue reading

Went to explore the new Djitsun Mall in Ang Mo Kio and saw this new Korean Restaurant, decided to have our dinner there. There is a " kimchi" buffet counter which offers 4-5 different types of kimchi. There is also a " free flow " of lettuce if you are having their BBQ Items.Ordered their spicy pork and beef short ribs for BBQ . The spicy Pork was really well marinated and it was also kind of spicy. The Beef Short Ribs was really fresh and it was juicy and tender even after BBQ.The Seafood Pancake quite huge and it was loaded with quite a fair amount of seafood like squid, prawn and even oyster!Overall, the food was quite good! continue reading

I had a wonderful time at Kkongdon BBQ at Djitsun Mall! Never knew Kkongdon BBQ served a great barbeque time. Kkongdon BBQ has 70 branches in Korea and 4 in Singapore. I had a beef and pork set at $12.80 ++ per person. Had a fun time grilling the beef and pork. The set also came with free salad bar, unlimited servings of lettuce and bowl of sweet & sour soup. I loved the taste of BBQ beef and pork on the piece of lettuce. I had so much vegetables today that it was a personal record of eating vegetables in one day (haha!). The Kkongdon staff at Djitsun mall was good and they even changed the BBQ plate after it had too many black stains from grilling the meats. Yummy! Very nice lunch! For full review and more photos, please visit http://mrupupup.blogspot.sg/2013/07/kkongdon-bbq-barbeque.html continue reading
