After visiting this hot new restaurant, I ordered ikan bilis fried rice as my dinner last night because the Whampoa Drive Market & Food Centre closed for repairs and redecoration works from 02 June 2014 to 31 August 2014.Their fried rice with fried egg nice! Taste of 150g dried ikan bilis like salted fish.FYI: Their typical way of making crispy ikan bilis is by deep-frying them in hot oil. After that, they will add to fried rice whenever we feel like order. continue reading

Lengthy queue might gain attention of public, yet sometimes a good food was not judged by lining up. I found the place that provided outstanding Malay Halal food, I was abnormally desired for Nasi Lemak in an afternoon. Stall was pretty spacious, overall was clean and neat. Self-service basis, food was prepared immediately after we placing orders.Came with different variation of ingredients for patrons to pick and suit personal appetite, I ordered the basic Nasi Lemak and fried spicy chicken. Rice was the key point for this dish, I can tasted high-quality of Basmati Rice was used. Distinct and well balanced coconut aroma, it was quite a success. Deep-fried chicken created crispiness on exterior and seasoned just nice for the flesh, texture was juicy tender. Well, Nasi Lemak cannot be completed without a fiery Sambal, intense and blended adequately with a savoury satisfaction. Hard-boiled egg , cucumber, peanuts and anchovies were too ordinarily decent, no much thing to mention about. Price was $3.50, rather reasonable. continue reading
