Ever since I started schooling in the West area, Island Creamery have become my frequent place to go for desserts! My favourite is their awesome warm brownie! I usually order that with a scoop of icecream on top! They have a wide range of icecream flavours including unique ones like teh tarik, pineapple tart, pulut hitam etc and many other flavours as well! Their other desserts include the mudpies, baked alaska, waffles, apple pie, sundaes, icecream cakes and drinks! I shared a slice of mudpie with a friend on another visit and it was not bad! The top and bottom layer is covered in Oreo Cookies. The middle layer consist of 3 layers of icecream, the ReversO, Cookies n Cream and Burnt Caramel. ReversO is one of my favourite flavours! I highly recommend all icecream fanatics/lovers to check out this shop! continue reading

The ice cream café has a chic old school ambience. The ice cream selection was quite wide with many local favourites like Pulau Hitam (excellent) and double sesame which was what I had. The sesame ice cream itself was very thick and there was obvious evidence of generous ingredients used to make the ice cream. At a reasonable price of around $3 a scoop (compared to other places), Island Creamery will certainly be revisited. continue reading

The mudpie here is definitely not for the calorie watcher! Its super indulgent with tons of oreos, chocolate, fudge sauce and loads of dense creamy ice cream. The mudpie has a crisp base, a thin layer of burnt caramel ice cream, followed by a layer of chocolate and cookies and cream flvoured ice cream. The whole thing is topped off with a chocolate shell with chunks of oreos embedded in it and a thick fudge sauce is poured over it! Yum! continue reading

FoodBe spoilt for choices as there were simply too many home-made flavours by Island Creamery.Very Berry & Cendol on a waffle. These favours are great! Love the berry bits that comes between my bites, they are sweet and delicious. For these two flavours, I notice that they are quite icy as in they dropped off easy when we added little force to our spoons. They are not too as creamy as expected and melt quite easily. Cendol flavour consists of the usual condiments of cendol and goes quite well with the waffle. The waffle was pre-prepared and upon order, they just have to heat it up, waffle is so-so only. Nutella and Cookies and Cream Flavour in a bowl. These are creamy, however the nutella flavour somehow surprised me as I tested on it. It wasnt nutella and the taste seems closer to chocolate chip instead. cookies and cream flavour is quite normal.ServiceFriendly and efficient service received. AmbienceAs usual, the placed is packed with youngsters chatting and studying. Seatings are an issue here.PriceStill within the market standards of Island stall. continue reading

My hometown of Singapore has no shortage of good ice cream palours but time and time after again I just can’t to seem to get enough of those awesome ice creams from Island Creamery. Even if it means travelling out of the way just to savour my favourite Pulut Hitam. Like a bee attracted to a bright yellow flower, it’s a must-have a sure get whenever I pay the palour a visit.Usually two scoops of ice creams are enough to satisfy my teeth tooth. More scoops if I have friends to join me but every once in a while, just for old time sake, we would order a slice of oreo mud pie to share and delight in. It’s awesome I tell you, especially when you have it just out of the fridge not too long ago.Crumbly like a pie and still chocolatey like most of their chocolate infused flavours. Just so to let you know they have nutella and chocolate hazelnut but above all, there’s always the alcoholic Black Forest which I adore. Everything is nice to have and nicer to share but the nicest feeling is to be engage in endless conversation or simply get lost in your lover’s eyes.Romantic isn’t it?I found it silly to proclaim how Teh Tarik ice creams taste just like the actual drink. It felt like revelation at that point when I first took a scoop into my mouth. Until my dinner partner gave me a “don’t make yourself a fool” look…I think once in a while, it’s best to enjoy ice creams in solemn too.The place is always pack. It will be lucky if you could find a table among students and lovers who seem to take their time enjoying their sweet treats in good company. To be honest, that’s what I do too. There’s simply no need to finish everything in a rush.If only my house is just beside my favourite ice cream palour.I swear I will be heading there every other day! continue reading
