This is one of the store inside the food court of Katong Shopping Centre. There's always a long queue here but luckily, I didn't have to queue up this time as it was already 8pm.Paying for S$4.5, you'll have a nice set with plenty of chicken, chicken rice, chicken veggie soup and free flow of salad (made by carrot, cucumber and some other veggie with a sour dressing). Personally, I think the chicken served here is better then that of Boon Txxx Kxx. Both hubby and I love the soup the most. The soup served with chicken rice is usually plain chicken soup but in this little store, a lot of veggie has been added into the soup which make it much more tasty and rich. So, don't forget about the soup when you come! continue reading

Heard a lot about the chicken rice at katong shopping centre and it indeed did not disappoint at all. Rice was fluffy and fragrant and chicken was flavourful as well, topped with crispy garlic bits. there is even free serving of soup of the day and achar! Only complaint was that it was quite oily and we were feeling quite sinful and overwhelmed after the meal. Would definitely visit again and probably try out other stalls as well, as I felt pretty sad for them as there were not much customers patronising them T_T continue reading

Was at Teo Heng with my friends at Katong Shopping Centre and we decided to head to our favorite chicken rice stall which is located at the same mall as Teo Heng. Usually I will order roasted meat but I decided to try something new. I had Char Siew with "Shao Rou" and this meal only costs me $4.50. The char siew is nice! sweet and not too hard. Was expecting more the Shao Rou to be nicer but it was rather average. Overall, I still feel that their roasted meat is the best (reviewed about it in my previous post.)They have different types of soup every time i visit. This time i was given cabbage soup which is light and tasty. However i do feel very thirsty after that. So I predict that MSG might be added in the soup. continue reading

I went Teo Heng the other day, and decided to have chicken rice again, which is located in the same building at the basement of katong shopping centre. Their chicken rice is one of the most popular stalls, and indeed, the chicken rice was fragrant and tasty. The soup that day was I think some pork rib soup, which you can ask for more; soup was flavourful and not too salty. Veggies were average though, but goes well with rice. continue reading

located in the basement of katong shopping mall.. this chicken rice stall has many supporters...I like the chicken here.. juicy and the skin is soft and nice..the roast pork and charsiew.. the roast pork skin is crispy and the char siew is sweet and not tough..the vege.. the sauce is not salty and you won get sick eating too much of it..the stall owner is very generous with the soup.. they prepared more than one type of soup daily and they are not stingy with giving you the soup.. they have different soups every day.. today, they have lotus root soup and cabbage soup..the lotus soup is very yummy... I think they added pepper into it.. not spicy but it make the soup special and the soup is very sweet, the cabbage soup is also nice.. the cabbage is cooked till soft and the soup is sweet with chicken taste.. so I suppose the soup is boiled with chicken..their homemade achar.. they are stingy with their achar too.. they had a big box of it at the stall and customers can take as much as they want..overall verdict of this stall is that the owner is not stingy and very generous.. and the uncle is very friendly too... and most importantly the price is very reasonable with huge servings.. continue reading
