This is a fairly quiet outlet if you were to come by on a weekday morning. I was here around 9:15 am. Did see a few mindef officers who probably pop by for breakfast before heading back to office opposite. Its self-service here, you place your order at the counter, pay and collect the food on a tray.I went for the ala carte bak chor mee, at $4.50 quantity wise its quite little, one fried wantan, one fish ball, abit of shredded mushroom sliced pork and minced pork. Quite an average eat but it was at least quiet and it supposedly operates 24hours. Return again: not unless i want a quiet breakfast place. continue reading

Usually, I didn't come here but instead, I would go to "A-Mei" but was closed down when I was there. This place was a little dirty and there were a number of uncleared tables. The staff was friendly though. I decided to order assorted finger foods when I was here. The chicken wings was not bad, quite crispy. But everything else was normal, like any other deep-fried food. Some of it was a little cold. The only main issue I have with it was it was a bit too oily. There is limited free parking. It is rather inconvenient, you would probably come here only because you live nearby or by car. continue reading

My hubby and I went visiting my cousin at Bukit Panjang area but she is not home. We are hungry and decide to went for early lunch. My hubby told me there is a rail mall and i never know there is such places. He took me to EAT @ Rail Mall to have fishball noodles while waiting for my cousin to be back. EAT @ Rail Mall is a simple set but yet there is long queue for the food. Food not too bad, it come with a package of coffee or tea. continue reading

You'll find all your favourite soul food here.Laksa, Mince Meat Noodles, Chicken Wings, Fishball Noodle, Dumpling Soup, Fishballs, and a whole lot more. See the menu (photograph).I tried the laksa. There is a generous helping of cockles and if you don't like them they can exclude when you order. Thick fishcake slices and I love the fish glue beancurd thingy (I don' t know what it is called but it is like layers of beancurd skin with fish paste inbetween.)The gravy is heavy with coconut, fragrant and full of flavour. It comes across as a little sweet.I also had a homemade barley water. The drink is thick but not sweet with a decent amount of barley at the bottom. I was put off at first with the price of $1.80 especially since there wasn't a price list. The serving is pretty big so in the end the cost was justified. My only complaint for the shop is the mouldy smelling tables and trays, especially the trays. This odour is caused by a stagnant rag and it is a sign of not being cleaned thoroughly and properly. I would recommend the shop to use a little bit of disinfectant like Dettol in the rinse or carry a small spray bottle mixture of diluted Dettol and water to wipe clean the tables and trays. The shop has seating for approximately 50 pax.Open 24 hours? continue reading
