It was impossible to have breakfast on weekends, I was snuggled in bed and slept as long as I desire, then missed the time for BREAKFAST. Had brunch again, I followed my friends to be here.Upon entering the restaurant, I felt like being traveled back to 70s or 80s century. The décor were out-of-fashion, hanging obviously torn Hong Kong beloved celebrities’ photos from old magazine. Menu also, picture on cover page was traditional. We were spoilt for choices, wide range of Hong Kong specialties to be ordered.Disappointed as the food came, it was instant noodle. Crispy chicken did meet my expectation, but it was too oily for me. The green Ginger sauce beside was weird to accompany the noodles. Not really worth the price, it was nothing luxury or impressive. The fat part and meat was in good ratio, juicy and tender with crusty skin. Famous Cantonese cuisine, it had precise taste. However, I was not able to eat much. At most three pieces, it was greasy already for me. In short, the food did not give me any good remembrance. I don’t think I will come back again. continue reading

1st time trying out this HK cafe but was first disappointed that the outdoor section which was supposed to screen BPL, they have not paid for the new season package thus no community shield to watch. So me and my friends decide to head indoors instead. You will see lots of HK actor/actress photographs on the walls with Cantonese songs played in the background. When ordering, instead of telling us what is not available, we were only advised by the staff based on which item we choose, word bingo game? Should have just tell us upfront.Did not really have a good feel this is anywhere near being authentic, verified by the food. The chicken chop noodle i ordered tasted very home like, using maggie mee. The green ginger given was nice though. My Teh came in this cute little metal mug though. Overall i do not think i will return here again. Its a 24hr joint though. continue reading

The dimsum here are quite good and they serve almost everything at one go. I bought a deal of $19.90 for buffet lunch on a weekend here. There's a range of varieties with free flow of chinese tea. I love the custard bun they serve and the best thing is there's no limited eating time and you can stay for as long as you like! My friends and I stayed for around 3 hours or more and the staff were still friendly. continue reading

As compared to the Old HK branch in Novena, I feel that this restaurant is kinda old. The seats are torn and the paint on the wall are flaky. Honestly, I am kinda shocked that the management did not make any effort to renovate. As for the food, I feel that the dim sums are not as nice as I have expected. They seem to have been kept in the cooker for very long. However, the cooked dishes such as si ji dou, fried carrot cake and porridge taste quite good. continue reading

This restaurant may look really simple in their decoration and the layout may not be as squeezy, still the crowd over here is almost endless which most of the youngster love to hang around in this tea house to have some snacks and drinks and and great long chat. Have tried their steamed prawn dumplings and was not too impressed with it. The dumpling skin is abit too hard and not smooth at all. Fortunately the prawn meat in the dumpling is consider fresh and crunchy. Overall was quite alright only. continue reading
