Costa Coffee is conveniently located at the heart of town area! I went to the branch at Somerset, 313 orchard there. They had quite a selection for their coffee, drinks, cakes and sandwiches. If you dont mind the noises from the shopper, you can head down there to get some work done actually! Look at their display of cakes and drinks!I enjoy trying new food! So this mandarin mango cheesecake caught my eyes! Mango taste fused with the tinge of mandarin orange. Sweet and brings a lil of sourish. The cheesecake is moist and dense with the layer of crushed cookie layer. Pretty awesome feeling after eating. Their mocha is good too! Its aromatic smooth and rich. Not too strong a coffee taste. well blended with chocolate and espresso. One of the tea time place to head for when you’re in town! continue reading

Was there at its opening ceremony to try out some of its food. 313 Somerset Costa Coffee is one of its newest outlets, it is directly opposite Marche. Costa Coffee serves great coffee and some mini bites. We tried out its Tuna Meltz on Soft Bageutte as well as its Pesto Chicken on bread. The Tuna Meltz is quite delicious, with the bread being toasted and with the melted tuna, it makes a perfect pairing. As for its Pesto chicken, there's nothing really special about it. continue reading

There was a new coffee cafe at Sommerset 313 and it was quite popular with shoppers.I had decided to have a healthy snack during tea time during the weekday. I ordered this Salmon Salad. The salmon salad used smoked salmon. The salmon had heavy smoked aroma and the meat tasted smooth and not chewy. The vegetable was surprising fresh and very crispy. There was caesar sauce to go with the salad. The sauce tasted similar  to tar tar sauce with milder sourish. continue reading

Located at Somerset 313, is a newly opened UK coffee joint. This is their fourth branch in Singapore. However do not underestimate this singapore's coffee joint newbie. as it is one of the largest coffee joint in UK. It is located just in front of Marche and has this unique comfortable deco that allowed people to chillax over a cuo of coffee. On top of that, it is strategically located near public transport and the exit to the discovery walk at 313 that it's rather hard to miss this cafe. Beside that, with pots of plants surrounding the cafe, it gives the customers some sort of privacy to enjoy the coffee there. Similar to starbucks, it is basically self service here. However the cashiers and the barista here are very vibrant, bubbly and friendly. On top of that, they are very attentive and fast moving. Thus queue was very cleared quite quickly. As I was dropping by after dinner thus I have only ordered a mango pistachio cake and a hazelnut latte ( Primo size aka smallest size). I was lucky as there is a promotion for every coffee paired with cake is only $10 from 6pm to closing. The mango pistachio cake is a rather interesting. It was a twist from the normal mango cake that I have tried. It has a grainy nutty texture and there are small mango slices in the layer of mango cream. However the taste is just right, not too sweet.Personally I like the hazelnut latte here as there was a strong nutty aroma of the hazelnut in every mouthful of coffee I drank. Beside that, there was a well balance between the coffee and hazelnut aroma. On top of that, the milky foam was really fluffy and the overall taste wasn't too sweet. I would highly recommend this drink for anybody who like hazelnut coffee.Overall it was a good chillax experience at costa coffee and I would definitely visit this coffee joint again soon. Not only is the quality of the coffee, cake and service good, the environment here is also very inviting for people to catch up over coffee, chillax and laze the day away while people watching. continue reading

Taste: The smoked salmon salad is quite nice. However, hazelnut coffee really doesn't suit my taste, it was really bland.Environment: Beautiful newly renovated open cafe.Service: Very good service, the staff were very friendly.Clean: No problems with the cleanliness.Price: All items in their menu are quite pricey, however, with the good service and environment, I think its worth the money. continue reading
