Shopping around Jurong East and thinking of an affordable place for a meal, Pho Street is located in one of CapitaLand Mall Asia's malls, Westgate. Located at basement 2, Pho Street could be an ideal solution to enjoy good , affordable and fast serving vietnamese food. You can start with some vietnamese street snacks like the Sesame Rice Crackers with Fragrant Mined Meat or the Vietnamese Snack Platter consisting of pork rolls, chicken skewers and vietnamese crabcakes. If the stomach's feeling a tad spacious, the Banh Mi combi can be your choice of meal. Though you can't find that local authentic Banh Mi flavours, the combination of pork belly, grilled beef and chicken ham is just as good.Throw in some Summer Rolls and bowls of Pho to complete your meal.full review @ http://shauneeie.blogspot.sg/2016/03/pho-street-westgate.html continue reading

Full review: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2016/02/pho-streets-vietnamese-new-year-dish.htmlPho Street is a quick service restaurant with a vibrant dining ambience yet compressed seating arrangement, serving traditional Vietnamese food. Recently, they came up with Vietnamese Caramelised Braised Pork Belly with Rice and Egg Vermicelli - a slow-braised pork belly in sweet coconut juice to reveal the enchanting caramelised flavours, together with a hint of sweetness and spiciness from the chillies and black peppers. The pork belly is so soft and tender that the fats simply melts in one’s mouth. I would say never judge a book by its cover with Banh Mi. Usually consist of a crusty bread stuffed with meat, followed by mayonnaise, pickled carrot & radish, cucumber, chilli and cilantro. Lastly, quench your thirst or spiciness with the refreshing fizzy Lemon Cooler with Peppermint and Basil. My favourite from the list, although I like lemongrass but I don't think Pho Street's pleases my palette.Do not miss out on the array of Vietnamese street snacks offered such as Sesame Rice Crackers with Fragrant Minced Meat and Spices Dip, it absolutely taste better than it looks. The combination are heavenly, I wouldn’t mind paring it with a bowl of white rice even. continue reading

Knowing that Vietnamese cuisine has increased momentum in Singapore especially to youngsters and family, Pho Street decided to open its 2 outlets at Westgate and Bedok Mall with an emphasis on the healthy, yet tasty nature of Vietnamese cuisine to attract the crowd. I'm so privileged to be invited by them to try on their new menu. On their extensive menu, you can get to see their signature Pho (Vietnamese noodles), Bun (Rice Vermicelli), Com (Fragrant rice) and Banh mi. In addition, they also offer wide variety of Vietnamese street snacks such as famous summer roll and fresh pork spring roll. Let's not wait furthermore, scroll down and check out the delicious food that I tried. Beverages:Lemon Cooler with Peppermint & Basil ($3.50) (Left side) and Passionfruit & Basil Mojito ($3.50) (Right side) was refreshing. If I were to pick my favourite out of these two, I will choose Lemon Cooler with Peppermint & Basil as I like the combination better and is less sweet. Vietnamese Street Snacks:Fresh Summer Roll (2pcs) - $4.90 The ingredients include vegetables, fresh herbs, prawns, pork belly, rice vermicelli wrapped in rice paper accompanied with their specially created peanut sauce by the Pho Street chef. The fresh vegetables are crunchy and is a total perfect when you dipped it into their sauce. Overall, this food is refreshing and appitizing. Crispy Fried Chicken Mid-Wings served with Caramelised Sweet Dip (3pcs) - $4.90In Vietnam, the chicken wings are usually tossed with the sauce before they are served. However, in order to satisfy the majority of the Singaporean tastebud, the caramelised sauce is served as a dipping sauce instead. Anyway this crispy fried chicken was yummy- crisps on the outside and tender inside. They will also fried the chicken only when the order was made to ensure the food is warm when served on the table. Sesame Rice Crackers with Fragrant Minced Meat and Spices Dip - $6.90This is my favourite and interesting dish that I've tasted so far!!! The sesame rice crackers specially imported from Vietnam goes perfectly well with their fragrant minced meat and spices dip. And of course, my friend and I finished it up. Yumm~Vietnamese Snack Platter - $8.90Left to Right: Crispy Fried Pork Rolls (2pcs), Vietnamese Crabcakes (2pcs), Roasted Chicken Skewers (2pcs)Overall the snack platter was delicious. Crabcakes were savoury and yummy. Mainsho Beef Combination - $9.90 Beef Balls, Beef Slices, Beef Shank, Beef Tendons, Beef Tripe Overall, the Pho Beef combination broth is warm, lightly-sweet and tasty. Oh yah, before eating it remember to squeeze the lime to give the extra flavour. Roasted Pork Chop with Fragrant Rice - $7.90The fragrant rice together with the sauce and garlic is superb! However, as for the pork chop, I felt that it's a little tough for me. Vietnamese Dessert:Cream of Mung Bean with Coconut Sauce & Crushed Peanuts - $3.50My first time trying it. The taste is unique but definitely good and filling. You have to try it when you are there (: continue reading

It was past dinner time and we were looking for some healthy snack. Fried stuff, oily stuff were certainly out of our option. So, we decided to have this summer roll at Pho Street. The summer roll were wrapped in thin rice papers which allow you to get a sneak peek of the ingredients inside. There was one prawn in each roll, together with vermicelli and some vegetables. It tasted refreshing with the mint leaves. The summer roll was served with peanut sauce, which was rather bland. We actually prefer to have the roll to go with sourish sauces. Overall, it tasted fine. continue reading

Pho Street is one of the up and rising brands for Vietnamese cuisine, which seemed to have sprouted in new malls of the late. We were craving for Vietnamese food for dinner, which we decided to give it a shot.Fresh Summer Rolls ($2.50) are my favourtie Vietnamese side dish, and I enjoyed having the ones served here. The rice paper had the right degree of elasticity, and coupled with the vegetables, juicy prawn and pork, it was refreshing yet flavourful at the same time.My dining partner ordered the Pho Beef Combination ($9.90), which allows one to have both beef balls and beef slices in a single bowl of Pho. The noodles were silken smooth as it slides effortlessly down the throat, and the broth carried a light flavour of beefiness. We loved how the beef balls were bouncy and the beef slices were tender, all without tasting to gamey. My dining partner was not a fan of the broth and noodles though; he found it bland and rather tasteless.Being the usual “rice bucket” I am, the Roast Pork with Fragrant Rice ($7.90) was the choice I made for dinner. The pork was sliced like Char Siew without retaining the skin. While it was missing on crispiness, it does carry the taste of sio bak but in a more subtle way without the smokiness. The fragrant rice was not particularly fragrant as it was just usual white rice, though it worked well with the preserved vegetables served as a side for a hint of sweet and sour.Homemade Chrysanthemum with Corn ($3.00) did not really contain much chrysanthemum, but felt more like a concoction of diluted corn syrup.Vietnamese Iced Coffee ($3.00) was equally disappointing, which was really diluted and bland. For more photos and the full review, please visit: http://jiaksimipng.wordpress.com/2014/02/01/pho-street-westgate/ continue reading
