Ordered Fish and chips and milk tea ice cream float and the portion was really a bit pathetic. The fish was really small and fires were a bit cold. Ice cream float was ok but the ice cream has chunks of ice in it. We also ordered this mango dessert and it was pretty ok with mango ice cream on top. continue reading

While waiting for my relatives to arrive at the airport, I went to have some snacks at Xin Wang Hong Kong Café at T3. I ordered the Kaya Bun. The staff gave me a table tag and I wait for the kaya to be ready. The kaya bun was freshly baked, henece the outer skin was crispy. The inner part of the bread was soft but not as fluffy. The kaya spread and the butter slices given were little. The kaya tasted sweet with coconut aroma. The butter was oily and did not have butter fragrant.Overall, the kaya bun tasted average, I would prefer to order kaya toast where the kaya spread was more generous. continue reading

Back here for dinner after cycling with some friends. The queue was pretty long when we reach about 7.30pm & due to our big group, we waited for close to an hour to get a table!Stew Beef noodle. noodle texture was just right & the beef is very tender. Radish on the other hard is not as soft as expectedChives Dumpling. Pan fried to golden brown on one side while the it's moist on the other. Fresh ingredients inside are juicyPrawn wrap in beancurd skin. Prawn inside is fresh & sweet but it's slightly oilyice jelly with watermelon, longan & pearls. continue reading

FoodI was so full of energy and decided to drove from one end of the west to the east side. The French Toast was one of its signature dish. Deep fried thick toast coated with egg and generous spread of peanut butter. Peanut butter was rather slimy and its look good when it overflows down the Toast was generally crispy outside and soft in the inside. Cost: $5.90.Fish & chips tastes average, fries tastes dry. Have an interesting sunny side up egg and expect the egg yolk to flow out once we pierce it. Out of expectation, it somehow was cooked.Special Yuan Yong snow Ice at $6.50. Tastes like diluted coffee with tea because of its ice. Tastes blend even though they have put some sweetcorn over. Not very sweet.Mango with sago and pamelo was also average. Cost: $6.50ServiceI have an awkward experience (2 encounters) from one of the service staffs. The first round she pops up of no where with a board/advertisement to promote their Xin Wang's membership in a monotonous voice when my friend and I were so into our conversation. Secondly, when we were in the midst of having our meals, she came again pushing the restaurant menu to us mentioning that those are their latest items. We were stunned by her approach as we had ordered quite alot already. Whereas the other staff is good, she asked if we want the dessert after the meal.AmbienceQuiet down at about 10pm. Xin Wang has extended its operating hours to 2am instead of 1am.It is a good place to dine. PriceAverage pricing of a char Chang ting.Recommendation / TipsBe careful of the steps when you leave your seats if you are sitting on the cushioned chairs. I almost fell off. continue reading

Working at the airport can be spoilt of choices with so many different type of food around. Today I joined my colleagues for lunch at Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe at Changi Airport Terminal 3. Not many people know of this place as it is rather hidden from the public view. From the departure hall, take the escalator to the highest level and you will locate the restaurant.I tried the fried beehoon with pork ribs. I was quite satisfied with the beehoon but the pork rib was a bit dry. continue reading
