There are two places to eat at Singapore Institute of Management, the canteen and Megabites cafe. As my friend and I had a 4 hours break in between lessons, we decided to dine in at Megabites cafe which is relatively less crowded than the canteen. When you enter the cafe, a card will be issued to you and charged accordingly to the chops given by the stall staff. There is the Western stall, Chinese stall and the drinks/desserts stall. The Western stall offers a few combo set meals and I had the grilled BBQ chicken with mashed potatoes and fries. The chicken and fries were alright, but the mashed potato needs improvement! continue reading

I conclude that I have this fetish for fries and I think I have unknowingly went hopping around to have french fries whenever I'm out for meals or just a snack bites. I believe that most of the different types of fries had been tasted by me. I have even google on different types of fries in this world. And here at Megabites, I had what they call the steak fries. My tips are having it while it is hot and don't wait till it gets cold and soggy because you can't taste the crispiness. And never dip into sauces first. Have it at its original first because deciding if you need any sauce. The fries here has nothing to be excited about. Very norm but most importantly and surprisingly, it is not oily. And if you love cheese fries, top up a dollar for the cheese. The cheese is good but not too much. You will get a little sick of it later on.So is not a must-try here but if you want finger food, this can be your choice. continue reading

My sister left her thumbdrive at home so I had to deliver her homework presentation to her, otherwise usually I have no business in schools. The food here is considered highly affordable in my opinion. We ordered Chicken Chop with Rice – Chicken chop is evenly cooked with no bloodstains on the inside like some other places, covered with savoury brown sauce (and my own preference of pinch of pepper) that enhances the taste of the chicken. The rice was a little wet on its own even without the brown sauce. Coleslaw balancing on a piece of cucumber slice was a little miserable looking but I’m not going to complain because it’s only $4.50.Chicken Chop with Spaghetti –Consistent grilled chicken (which I assume was cooked together with the rice set’s) was equally juicy and succulent. Pasta was a little overcooked as it clumped together. Definitely needs more tomato sauce! continue reading

Recently, I ordered Fried Rice from the the Oriental Store in Megabites Hot Bites. The wait for the food took about 5-10mins and a queue number was given which would be announced once the food was ready for collection. The fried rice was nothing much to rave about. It was rather average and plain and definitely a disappointment as I was having a huge craving for Fried Rice that day!Definitely won't be going back for Fried Rice but other dishes though continue reading

Whenever I attend courses at SIM, i will normally have lunch at Megabites. Once you enter the place, they will give you a dinning card. Everytime you order something, they will chop on the card and you make payment at the cashier on the way out. Today i opted for the chicken cutlet meal. It comes with mushroom soup, french fries, coleslaw and rice. The portion of the cutlet is good and they will drizzle some bbq sauce on it which makes it taste even better. continue reading
