Prawn paste chicken rice ($4.80): The prawn paste chicken wings are accompanied by butter rice instead of white rice. Thus, eating just the rice along is enjoyable as well because the rice is flavoured. The chicken wings are crispy and well-marinated with the prawn paste. It also comes with a side of salad which isn't to my liking. The portion is surprisingly quite filling as well. Worth the try continue reading

We were running job errands in the area, so decided to “go back to school” to check out what’s there. At Pines Café, I ordered Tempura Ramen and felt it was pretty costly for $6.50 in a tertiary school. The bland and dull looking ramen tastes like something out of an instant packet. The batter of the shrimp is crispy but too thick and almost tasteless. In my opinion they should isolate it away from the soup because it causes the tempura to turn soggy. Crabsticks are the usual off from the freezer. The soup base was a little too salty for my liking, it made me quite thirsty. continue reading

We went to this dining place at Ngee Ann Polytechnic because our workplace is quite near. This dish is indeed very interesting...I heard of Cereal Prawns, Cereal Crab! But, Cereal Fried Rice? That's something new, isn't it?The fried rice mainly consists of rice, together with prawns, squid and egg...The fried rice is then topped with Cereal (Where's the rice??) I would say that the Fried Rice would be really normal without the cereal. It tastes like any other average fried rice that we would be able to get in the hawker centres. However, the cereal added a sweet taste to it, making it really special but after sometime, I'm not sure it's because of the Cereal or what, I started to feel very greasy of the taste. The chill that is provided is more of that Thai Chilli Sauce with Lime...Another addition that makes the fried rice more flavorful...Spice always makes the dish a shoe lot better and appeal more to the taste buds, at least for me! continue reading

In between lessons, my classmate and I headed to Pines Cafe for a drink to quench our thirst. As I was craving Milo, I ordered their iced milo for the first time.Sadly, it was a huge disappointment. It was too milky and the milo powder wasn't mixed in well.I could hardly taste anything other than the milk.Definitely wouldn't try this again! continue reading

Despite today's chilly weather,I was craving for Orange Juice so i headed to the ngee ann's alumni again as it's the nearest to my school divsion. I was initially thinking if I should get the usual marigold peel fresh but then I thought I should try someplace new so me n B ended up going to alumni. I would say i made a good choice! The orange juice was not too pulpy. The amount of pulp inside was just right and it wasn't too sweet.I HATE drinks which are too sweet so I definitely enjoyed this one! continue reading
