I've only been here for lunch a couple of times so I tend to order the lunch sets plus other side dishes like pancakes or the ddeokbokki. I heard that the dinner crowd tends to order BBQ meat and drinks and there are some items which are only available at night so depending on the time of your visit, you may be able to enjoy a different spread. The lunch sets usually consist of a meat or seafood dish with rice and soup and cost around $10++ (depending on what you order). From what I understand, the lunch set's portion is a bit smaller than if you order the same dish ala-carte so if you are a big eater, you know what to do.I usually order the pork or chicken bulgogi set (picture shows pork set) which is very satisfying for lunch but not to the extent of driving you to dreamland straight after the meal. It may taste a bit on the sweet side compared to other places which tend to be spicier so for people who prefer a less-spicy version, this may be for you. The ddeokbokki comes in a rather large portion and is on the sweet side so you may wish to get your lunch companion to share. As for the pancake, I tend to choose seafood rather than kimchi (not because of taste differences) but rather I prefer the seafood version for its nicely done crust and the generous amount of seafood within (although it can fluctuate on different days).Prices-wise, I think it's a bit steep but considering that it's in town and is relatively consistent in terms of taste, I don't mind coming here for good Korean food in a comfortable setting. continue reading

Heard about an authentic Korean restaurant in Singapore from my Korean friend and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is one of the bigger and better decorated Korean restaurants I've went to. Staff was very friendly, greeted us and served us with a bottle of ice cold water straight after we sat down. I like their ordering system, there's a call bell at the side of the table, you can just press it and the staff will attend to the table. Ordered a seafood pancake and a sundubu (tofu) soup, and they came with 10 other small side dishes (which are free). The seafood pancake wasn't oily and it was fried well. Very delicious and goes well with the salty sauce that came with it. The sundubu soup is one of the best renditions in town, not diluted like those in other Korean restaurants. It has the signature spicy taste, very yummy. All the side dishes were quite nice too, I especially liked the kimchi and the beansprouts. Price range is about the same as other Korean restaurants in town, very worth it. Enjoyed dinner! continue reading

Had a bulgogi beef and blugogi squid. As mentioned, the side dishes were to be expected as with any authentic Korean restaurant (good variety and can refill), but what really impressed us was the service. Although some items were depleted in the kitchen by the time we placed our second refill (that was because we arrived at about 9pm+), the waitress politely asked us if we wanted to refill other side dishes. The bulgogi beef and squid, to be honest, were not that different from foodcourt quality, but I think they stood out because of the entire atmosphere of dining. It does make the food taste that much better. It's not that as a restaurant, the ambience is better than a foodcourt (duh), but because it does invoke an authentic Korean dining experience and honestly, not many Korean restaurants in Singapore give you that kind of feeling. In all, I would recommend this restaurant not purely on the basis of the food, but for that experience which is so often missing in restaurants these days (unless you are willing to part with top dollars, although there are a few other gems that offer you good value too).Total damage? About 25-30 dollars for 2 pax. Value for money? Definitely worth more than its weight in gold.Next time, I'll try the BBQ items - their specialty. continue reading

Visited with my colleague yesterday, The side dish was quite not bad, just EACH serving portion is very little. (but, it is FOC and can be refilled..)We were told the portion for 1 hotpot is for 1 person, but the portion is for 2 I am very sure. so value wise i think quite worth it.the spicy nian-gao, abit too sweet. also big portion.(20 bucks)The pancake and side dish are very yummy! 9 side dish in total. But their free drink is plain water , prefer it come with tea.DOnt think i will visit it again.... continue reading

Had the bibimbap here. Was pretty good! The ingredients were pretty fresh and the side dishes presented were really delicious and the best part of it, you can ask for refill as much as you wish!! They serve a malt drink as well which taste like water with malt smell! Reallly refreshing and good! Actually i think their speciality here is the Korean BBQ which i think i will go back and try one day continue reading
