Laksa Mania at Re!Fill
2012-05-04
It was a late Friday night, but that didn’t stop our OpenRicers from heading down to Hotel Re!’s ReFill restaurant to try out their signature Abalone Seafood Laksa dish. Aside from the fact that their dinner was on us, the dish is quite different (in a good way) from the usual Laksa available in Singapore.
Abalone Seafood Laksa-reason why the OpenRicers went down to Re!Fill
Executive Chef William Ang, the mastermind behind this special dish, made sure that it would stand out by adding more ingredients. Aside from the usual prawns, noodles, squid, and scallops, he made it even richer by adding abalone! These were complemented very well with the perfect mixture of coconut milk with chilli. After a short ice breaker game, the guests were then served with their own big bowls of hot Laksa. They must have been hungry as everyone seemed to stop what they were doing to savour this gastronomic creation.
The OpenRicers finally get their bowl of Laksa!
Just one bowl of Laksa was already enough to make the OpenRicers feel full. But Chef William felt more than generous that night. And so, he also prepared two more dishes for tasting: the Smoked Duck Salad and Mushroom Soup Pastry.
Another special dish: the Smoked Duck Salad
Of course, no meal would be complete without dessert. And for this ORTU, the members sampled their Chocolate Brownie. The whole event ended on a high note and the guests went home happy and full. See also: Can't get enough of laksa? More seafood delights here
