OpenRice Members Special Wanna get your hands on Keishoken’s delicious ramen for FREE? Read on to find out how! Admit it: when you get to a ramen stall and take a look at the menu, everything pretty much looks the same. The difference only hits you when you get a taste. Don’t you ever wish you could differentiate one noodle dish from another with just one look? Introducing Chef Kazuo Sukuraoka’s revolutionary concept of ramen-and-colour fusion – all in the name of helping people like you and me remember our favourite ramen dishes! The new ramen outlet, Keishoken (now located at Great World City in Ebisboshi Shotengai) brings the flavours of northwestern Gunma in Japan to Singapore. Here’s a guide to the colourful ramen of Keishoken:
White Ramen ($12.00)
Cooked over a high flame for more than nine hours, the essence of fresh pork bones forms the base of this original noodle dish – rich and creamy broth with tender char siu meat and black fungus.
Red Ramen ($13.00)
Lovers of spice, behold the Red Ramen. Chilli, Gochujang (Korean chilli pepper paste) and ginger are just some of the main spices used in this mouth-watering dish.
Black Ramen ($13.00)
‘Smoky goodness in a bowl’ – that pretty much sums it up for the Black Ramen. The perfect combination of its ingredients – fried garlic oil and Ma-yu (sesame oil) blended with minced pork, onions and ginger – make it addictive!
Yellow Ramen ($13.00)
This one’s for all you curry fans! Yellow Ramen features minced pork, onions, apple, tomato and ginger – all the good stuff you find in spicy-sweet Japanese curry.
Ajitama Ramen ($14.00)
Love the creamy texture of the Hanjuku egg? Then you must pick the Ajitama Ramen. Enjoy the melt-in-your-mouth goodness, together with the rich flavours from the pork broth.
Orange Ramen ($13.00)
The combination of the ingredients of this miso-base ramen play with the palate. With a blend of ginger, garlic, apple, minced pork and even peanut butter, it’s not so hard to see why!
Special Ramen ($16.00)
If you’re addicted to the smooth tenderness of char siu, the Special Ramen is definitely for you. Also, how bout’ a tasty Hanjuku egg for an added bonus?
