Lately there is a new phenomenon in Singapore known as "KOI'ING". Beside taking a queue number to see the doctor at polyclinic or collection of my passport at the immigration office, I didn't know that I have to take a number and wait more than 20 minutes for my cup of milk tea.
I personally think that the milk tea is not much different to others like Gong Cha or Cup Walker. However they do have a more interesting menu than the others which probably that is why they are attracting long queues of customers waiting to KOI.
Koi is always the most famous bubble tea among Singaporeans. Bought Koi yesterday at Iluma since the queue was not that long compared to other days. Pearl Milke Tea ($2.4): personally love the pearls because it is different from others as it is small pearls. Besides that, the pearls are spongy. Besides that, the milk tea was strong and fragrant. The good thing is you get to choose your own sweetness level which depends on your preference. I normally choose 50%.
They definitely serve the best bubble tea in Singapore. It's a little pricier than the other places like Sweet Talk and Each A Cup, but it is worth it. The tea and the pearls are much nicer and the fact that you can choose the sweetness and the amount of ice is a huge bonus.
Just be prepared to wait for quite a while. During the busiest times, the wait can be up to an hour long. And try not to go too near closing time as they do tend to run out of milk tea.

I was shopping around bugis with my daughter when she suggested we headed to koi to get a drink. Apparently the queue was pretty long for a weekday and there were many students in the queue. This shows how popular koi is. We joined in the queue and ordered our drinks. I ordered their milk green tea. It was really good, worth the queue. The tea was very fragrant, you can really taste that they used premium tea leaves to brew their tea. They added enough milk to make it very milky, however the milk taste did not overpower the fragrance of the tea. The sugar level of 25% was just right, the drink was not too sweet nor was it too bland. The pearls were very chewy and they were not too big. most importantly, it did not get stuck on my teeth cos some places the pearls get stuck on your teeth and leave this black stain. My daughter requested for less pearls for me cos she said the amount of pearls they add sometimes is half of the cup and i would not have much tea to drink. One of the nicest bubble tea around.
It was my tea time, when I was shopping in Bugis, so I decided to walk a bit and go to Koi cafe. IT was a long queue like always, & when I reached the counter, I ordered for an Oolong milk tea, with 30% sweetness. The fragrance of the tea was strong & rich, plus the pearls were chewy & not soggy. The milk too seemed fresh. I enjoyed my cuppa tea that evening.
