For a mere $4.50, you can get a plate of delicious black bean sauce hor fun with generous servings of vegetables, meat and prawns from tong ah eatery. Hence, I will recommend one to try this hor fun. The salted fish fried rice (also $4.50) is also kinda tasty, especially when it is eaten with the balacan chili which seems to be specially made by the stall owner. However, I feel that it will taste even better if the salted fish are cut into small pieces.

My friend and I chanced upon this place by chance and we decided to go in for our late breakfast upon seeing that it serves breakfast as well. At night, it operates as a zi char stall. It was a cool morning and there aren't many people there, probably because it is already 10+ in the morning. Most of the customers are in their fifties or sixties.
We ordered the kaya toasts and hot coffees. The toast was sliced in half which made it very thin and hence very crispy. The butter in between each halfed slice is thick and cold and it is really very yummy. Imagine the cold butter melting slightly under the heat of the toasted bread spread with kaya. Perhaps it is the atmosphere (non air-con, out of the crowds etc) as well, the whole experience was very old school. I like that the kaya is not too sweet as well. Overall, great experience!
