Dazzling Cafe is located somewhere around the perimeter of Capitol Theatre. I have heard about the queue for approximately 2 hours, and was wondering if this wait is going be worth. Fortunately, or not, we were told waiting time is a minimum of an hour, but we can leave our contact and wait to be contacted when there is an available seat. Seems like a good time to walk around and further maxing your hunger level?Dazzling Cafe has a kind of cutesy decoration, with alternate chairs having a pair of bunny ears, which is instagram-worthy! It has limited seats, even though they have lower and upper storey. Any other interesting stuff will be its made-up fireplace, made up of a tv monitor showing a fire burning.Dazzling Cafe has food menu and dessert-cum-drinks menu separated. Their dessert is more like a main too, so you might actually consider sharing the food among your group, rather than having one each.Truffle Mushroom Risotto with Freshly Shaved Truffle 黑松露蘑菇烩饭 ($24.90). This plate of delicious yet plain-looking risotto consist of mixed wild mushrooms, red onions, and garlic being simmered in white wine reduction topped with fresh black truffle shavings, parmesan cheese and truffle oil. This firm yet mushy and creamy risotto is worth a try with its flavourful taste.Pan Seared Duck Breast Spaghetti in Orange Mustard Sauce 橙汁芥末鸭胸意大利面 ($24.90).What is a plain normal dish of spaghetti and duck breast slices, has got a twist with the addition of orange reduction and pommary mustard sauce. It is actually not bad, and fare above average. The orange-y sauce is unique to me, but probably my first time trying it, it inevitably got me to compare against the Truffle Mushroom Risotto with Freshly Shaved Truffle, and the latter got the better side of me.Buffalo Wings 水牛城辣鸡翅 ($15.90). Five pieces of the meaty buffalo wings, comes in reddish color and pungent tabasco smell. But do not be fooled by the presentation! It might be spicy to peeps who can't stand any bit of chili taste, but to those who does, it is definitely not spicy at all and has a sour taste too due to the tabasco. I did a sniff of it pretty near to my nose, and I got choked by it.Being at Dazzling Cafe, honey toast is one of their specialty and you have to try it! They have a variety of toasts and we had the Mango and Coconut Gelato Honey Toast 芒果椰子蜜糖吐司 ($18.90).Seems to be half a loaf of bread used to prepare the toast, with a big scoop of coconut gelato, and a moderate supply of mango cubes and sauce. Presentation is awesome and crew will actually leave it at your table for photo-taking, before you even request for it. Once you done with all the snapping, kindly request for them to teach you how to consume it in the best way without making a mess! There are a couple of ways I saw, but mine is simply to slice open the sides, and place the scoop of gelato on any flat side. Inside the toast will be cubes of normal toast to be smeared with the mango sauce, coconut gelato and mango cubes! Awesome dish for the sweet-takers.Prices are on the higher end, but it still calls for a return trip for their various honey toasts, and the welcoming and cheerful greeting. Despite the prices, a queue is still expected and it would be good if you are able to go early and be it the line before your stomach goes on starvation mode.Read more at http://www.foodesteem.com/2016/01/dazzling-cafe.html continue reading

Dazzling Cafe, the Taiwanese dessert chain has opened its branch in Singapore in newly renovated Capitol Piazaa. There are 9 outlets in Taiwan, 4 outlets in Shanghai, 1 outlet in Hong Kong and with the latest outlet in Singapore. The cafe and its menu looks colorful and photogenic.http://cennds.blogspot.com/2015/07/dazzling-cafe-singapore-taiwanese-cafe.htmlCafe concept looks similar like  a Japanese cute waitresses who were dressed in Japanese attire maid cafe.During my dinner visit with my boy, we expected for a queue. We left our contact numberand lucky us after around 15 minutes later we received a call from them. Queue is expected but waiting time depends from time to tome when you reach at the cafe.Admire the pretty owner of Dazzling cafe who is only 22 years old, rest assured to have its branch in Singapore. I think when we were at 22, we were still struggling with exam or as a working adult. Here are some cute decoration i took. Pardon me for the poor quality picture due to its lighting contrast between dinner night time and yellowish lighting setting at its cafeBlack Truffle and Wild Mushroom Spaghetti ($24.90)Although it is complemented by wild mushroom, black truffle shaving and tossed in a truffle cream sauce but i didn't feel the truffle. Perhaps the truffle was quite mild and it was not as good as i expectedMatcha with Azuki Beans Honey Toast ($19.90)We were given a choice to choose different type of toasted bread. Preferably crispy type, so we go for crispy level. Offered by the waitress to cut the toast for us. It looks good and taste good especially if you are match lover ! However, the cream was more than ice cream. If the cream is lesser and topped with more ice cream will be better. continue reading

For pictures and full review, pls visit:http://madamechewy.com/2015/11/14/dazzling-cafe/Dazzling Café is a popular café in Taiwan which opened its first outlet in Singapore earlier this year. Although the space isn’t large and tables are rather cramped together, it’s difficult not to be impressed by the pretty, whimsical décor of the place.Service was polite and efficient. The waitresses are cute, all dressed up in milk maid uniforms. Adorable plastic tableware is provided for kids.We tried 2 beverages Iced Pomelo Tea with Peach ($6) and Earl Grey French Blue ($8). The former was nice, the latter, very average. The Scallops and Crab Meat Spaghetti Aglio Olio ($18.90) is pasta worth pining for. Al dente stand of spaghetti is tossed in olive oil, succulent crab meat and red capsicum, then adorned with plump scallops. The chopped fried garlic added even more depth and texture to the dish.I’ve read a couple of positive reviews for the Pan-seared Duck Breast Spaghetti in Orange Mustard Sauce ($24.90), felt it was unique and hence wanted to try it. While orange marries well with duck, I can’t say that it goes well with pasta. The cream based sauce leaned more towards sweet rather than savory. I like my pastas savory.Dazzling Café is well known for its visually stunning shibuya toasts and when they arrived on our table, I can’t help but snap away.Recently launched in September, the Chocolate Lava Crispy Toast ($14.90) is a plate of sinful calories. It’s essentially fried toast with a chocolate lava core, topped with Haagen Daz Chocolate ice cream. It didn’t flow. At all. Other Lava crispy toast options include Cheese Lava Crispy Toast ($13.90) and Peanut Butter Lava Crispy Toast ($13.90)A flavor exclusive to Singapore, the Mango and Coconut Gelato Honey Toast ($18.90) is a thick toast hollowed out and filled with toasted cubes. A scoop of coconut gelato with sexy drizzle of mango sauce complete it. After giving you a moment to take the mandatory pictures, the server will proceed to dissect the sweet treat. It’s a pity to destroy the presentation of the dessert, but that’s the only way to get to the cubes of your choice of soft, normal or crispy cubes of carbs.Clocked in a blanket of cream and matcha sauce, the Matcha with Azuki Beans Honey Toast ($19.90) is another recommended item. The green tea ice cream was rich and packed with the bittersweet fragrance of matcha. I enjoyed it, but felt it could have been better with lesser cream (can be too rich for some people) and more Azuki beans. The Strawberry Ice Cream Waffle ($14.90), served with whipped cream, fresh strawberry silvers strawberry ice cream, condensed milk, honey and strawberry sauce, was a letdown. The waffle texture was too dense.Needless to say, when we left, our insulin levels were bouncing with delight. continue reading

Dazzling Cafe 蜜糖吐司專賣店, the Taiwanese dessert chain, has opened its Singapore branch at the new Capitol Piazza. Dazzling Cafe Singapore seems like it is designed for the instagram generation. The cafe, its food and even its menu all look colourful and dressed-up to be photographed. The whole cafe seems to be staffed by young pretty girls all dolled up in apron and dresses. Even the decor of the entire cafe is so "cute". Almost like you're entering a dollhouse. Are you ready to be DAZZLED?Looking at the menu, the font is tiny and it does take a while or two to squint to read the name of the dish as well as what's in the dish. I wish they would have bold the dish name so we can actually tell the staff what we want to order, rather than read the ingredients of the dish to the staff, which is exactly what I did! They have pastas, brunch items and most of the items are slightly higher in price compared to your typical hipster cafe but they seemed to have slightly unique renditions like an orange sauce based pasta for example.Dazzling Cafe is famed for its desserts and especially its signature Honey Toasts but it has a separate menu for savoury dishes. The mains are mainly spaghetti. Dazzling Cafe Singapore has a unique to Singapore Spicy Seafood Tomyam Tomato Spaghetti.Their drink menu seemed simple and quite pricey as well. The honey toasts at Dazzling need no introduction. They are famed from Taiwan and even their menu here is so attractive. It's hard to wonder if anyone can walk into this cafe and not order a single honey toast!?It was a difficult decision trying to decide which toast to get. I wanted to try all of them!1. Cream of Mushroom (200g/serve) $8.90++The layers of mushrooms in this soup is sublime. Dazzling uses different mushroom flavours to make a robust mushroom flavour. I find that when you layer any type of mushroom soup with multiple types of mushrooms you get a full flavor that brings out the best in possible flavor. They also use a touch of truffle oil to help boost the flavor. It was a decent portion for one person and I thoroughly enjoyed it!2. Bacon and Mushroom Fettuccine (320g/serve) $18.90++Bacon and sauteed mushrooms served over fettuccine cream sauce topped with 63 degree egg. The presentation is simple, yet really pretty! Why? Because RUNNY EGG! The 63 degree egg itself doubles up as the "sauce" for the dish. The waitress will also warn you before hand that it is a partially uncooked egg. I thought this fettuccine tasted very different from your typical bacon and mushroom pasta. Moreover, the cream sauce was a tad too diluted. A comforting dish, at best. But definitely not worth $18.90++! The cream of mushroom soup had way more mushroom flavour in comparison to this dish.3. Scallop and Crabmeat Spaghetti Aglio Olio (320g/serve) $18.90++Pan-seared scallops and white crabmeat tossed in spaghetti with red capsicum, garlic and fresh basil. It was a light and refreshing dish. I didn’t really taste too much seafood, sadly enough, but it was lightly tossed with olive oil, tomatoes, and broccoli. Always good to get those greens in!The Aglio Olio was flavoured up so well having absorbed the aroma of Olive Oil and Shallots. But even though it is an Aglio Olio, I felt that it was tad too dry. I enjoyed the bacon and mushroom fettuccine alot more.4. The Usuals $22.90++Poached eggs, cream spinach and parma ham on brioche toast, finished with hollandaise and micro herbs. Flawless poached eggs, well rounded hollandaise with a hint of spice, and delicious spinach. What's not to love! The parma ham also adds a slight hint of saltiness to your dish. The salad is also dressed well with a sweet sauce. All in all, a very plesant dish, despite the high price. I would definitely get this again rather than their pastas.5. Upstream Catch $22.90++Smoked Salmon and cream spinach nested on toasted brioche finished with soft poached eggs. This dish will amaze you with its wonderful poached eggs and a hollandaise sauce with a crispy texture from the brioche toast. The smoked salmon and spinach are brilliant accompaniments! This is one upstream catch that you wouldn't want to miss!6. Pan Seared Duck Breast in Orange Mustard Sauce (320g/serve) $24.90++Spaghetti with Pan-seared duck breast served in Orange reduction and Pommary mustard sauce. The orange mustard sauce itself was sweet rather than savoury. The al dente pasta in a sweet orange sauce together with medium-rare seared duck breast was an interesting combination. As stated in the menu that this is a chef recommend dish so I have decided to give it a try instead of my standard mentaiko / aglio olio pasta. Do note I found the duck breast meat to be a bit tough even though I was informed that the duck breast would be cooked to 70% doneness.7. Caribbean Fruit Punch with Calpis Sorbet $8++This drink provides a tropical tangy finish in our hot weather. Sip it fast though as the fruit bits fall off the sorbet as it melts. It took a long while for this drink to be served and we had to get the attention of the wait staff several times to check on the progress of the drink. I would like to mention that the staff were indeed very attentive and friendly. Good job girls! It was more of a slushie and you can either can a brainfreeze trying to drink it or wait for a while for it to melt so that you can sip it up. Unfortunately for me, the drink took too long to arrive and I didn't want a brainfreeze so I asked the staff to pack it in a to-go cup and left. 8. Caramel Latte Macchiato $7++This drink arrived shortly after ordering and it tasted pretty good. It was real coffee, not useless sugar-overdosed cofffee. I definitely felt my energy levels getting perked up while drinking this. The latte art was pretty cute too.9. Banana Chocolate Honey Toast (Normal) $17.90++When we were served this dessert, everyone at the table was going "wah! WAH!". The presentation of the Banana Chocolate Honey Toast was truly impressive. Being topped off with pistachios and surrounded by bananas with chocolate syrup drizzled all over the toast. This is the reason to be DAZZLED!Given a choice of crispy, normal, soft for the toast. We choose Normal. After you are done instagramming your Honey Toast, the wait staff will come over and help you "dissect" and serve the toast. You are also technically supposed to cut up the toast FIRST! and then drizzle the honey over the toast. Unfortunately, we were too engrossed with instagramming and started to pour the honey over the toast before we were given instructions.Cubes of crispy breads hidden in the enclosed box of toast is my favourite thing! I drizzled the honey over the cubes of crispy bread and spread the chocolate syrup, together you have a heavenly combination in your mouth! It's quite a big portion and we finished everything including the box of toast. The one that is clear about Dazzling Cafe is that they have gotten their whole aesthetic down, both in terms of decor & food presentation. It’s perhaps the most obvious reason on their current popularity. While I do like their gorgeous Honey Toasts, I really can’t look past the premium prices.Well, from the limited dishes I tried, I suppose they fare better in their savories here in Singapore. But I know, all of you are just gonna ignore this and order the toast and waffle anyway. The presentation of their food definitely did not disappoint, but their food could definitely use some tweaking! It is worth a trip to this place if: (1) you’re a huge dessert fiend, (2) willing to wait (even before opening time), and (3) willing to spend above average amount for a meal / dessert. continue reading

The much raved and highly anticipated cafe from Taiwan is in town, Dazzling Cafe. Their popularity since its emergence in 2010 has tamed fans all across the world and has bedazzled us in more ways than we could imagine. Their traditional Honey Toast along with many other food offerings brings delight to my senses, thus I was excited to try them as I did not get to when I was in Taiwan. The interior is themed in a light pastel colour, entailing its sophisticated and elegant nature. This modern mix brings with it some quirky tails to it, like the rabbit ears chair and the iconic 'Dazzling' logo within the establishment. If you are lucky enough you could be one of the few busking in the cute-sy rabbit chairs. Not the kind of waffle I adore, it was kinda chewy and soft. I prefer my waffle to be crispier on the outside and fluffier inside. The strawberry ice-cream was yummy and likeable, it was sweet with a tinge of sourness. Very refreshing without being too creamy.Being a huge fan of Matcha, how can I resist their Matcha with Azuki Honey Toast?!? This dish has been "haunting" my Instagram feed ever since Dazzling Cafe opened in Singapore Honey toasted bread, covered with vanilla whip and drizzled with matcha sauce, this sounds tempting enough. What's more, it is topped with a scoop of matcha ice cream, macaron and pretzel; such a beautiful dessert which was full of matcha goodness!!!However, taste wise was a lil disappointing. I would love it if it was ice-cream > cream, it was too creamy. However, fans who adore matcha (green tea) flavoured desserts should still give it a shot. This may not be the most visually appealing dish, but DAMN! This was definitely my favourite out of all. With creamy custard stuffed in the middle and a slice of cheese on top of each toast, each ingredient complemented one another perfectly. It was a great combination of sweet and savoury; looks may not be everything, this was simply delicious and I couldn't stop indulging in it!Not only do Dazzling Cafe serves a wide range of desserts, one of the savoury dishes I tried was the Mentaiko Spaghetti In Cream Sauce. It is a simple dish yet packed full with flavour; quite a comforting and delicious dish. However, I feel it is a lil pricey, definitely not worth $18.90++!!Most of their food items comes with a hefty price tag, but a big THUMBS UP for the beautiful presentation of their dishes and not forgetting the wonderful ambience which I love. Besides the presentation, Dazzling Cafe's toasts can withstand long photo taking sessions which is what we love about it. All my friends managed to snap beautiful shots of them and were so busy uploading on their Instagram pages I look forward to visit Dazzling again to try their full menu soon!  continue reading
