See my full reviews & photos at = http://chefquak.com/2016/01/29/great-wanton-mee-ah-huat-dunman-food-centre-on-27jan2016/went to my primary school classmate for a walk at siglap park connector (PCN) this morning on 27.1.2016. ^^we were not in contact for a long time.recently another classmate came visiting from the states, so i joined a few of them at din tai fung @ gem after lunch on a saturday as i already had a lunch appointment that day.one thing led to another & a group came to my place for a 14pax homecooked dinner last week.after the walk, my friend drove to dunman food centre.he told me there were 2 good wanton mee here – a huat & another stall on level 2. Eng had moved out some time ago.there was a large electronic queue number. there were just 2 before us, so it’s like 5mins.we had a S$3 bowl each. it came with quite a good helping of char siew plus 3 wantons. not too much noodles. for me just the right amount & really, a very decent meal. noodles were completely al dente, QQ.the chilli sauce was really good. overall a very good standard wanton noodles.my favorite is still kok kee(国记) @ lavendar food square.the place came under redevelopment & kok kee moved out but i have not yet tried kok kee at the new location at balestier food hub, hoe nam building.the other stall was the red ring at holland drive, also excellent wanton mee.there is also a good pontion wanton mee at bedok interchange food centre.there were a few others but for me ah huat ranks among the best.

More pics and thoughts at http://lepakwithyaops.com/fu-xing-mei-shi-富兴美食-affordable-tze-char-at-tanjong-katongFollow Lepak With Yaops on Instagram and FacebookWhat a joy to find an affordable and tasty Tze Char eatery which is a short drive from my place. Fu Xing Mei Shi is nestled in the same coffee shop as Nan Xiang Chicken Rice along Tanjong Katong, next to Caltex station.Apparently, there is another Fu Xing Mei Shi at Dunman Food Court, Onan Road. Whether is it a relocation to Tanjong Katong or a second establishment, that I'm uncertain. It was my second visit and I decided to bring my family here for dinner. The menu here ain't that extensive like a restaurant, but adequate for a simple dinner.During both visits, I have tried their Black Bean Sauce Steamed Fish Head ($13/15), Salted Egg Yolk Sotong ($15), Pork Ribs King ($15), Ginger Onion Beef ($12), Omelette ($8), Sambal Kang Kong ($6), Fried French Beans ($6) and Beef Hor Fun ($4.5)Satisfactory dishes were Black Bean Sauce Steamed Fish Head, Pork Ribs, Salted Egg Yolk Sotong, Fried French Beans and Beef Hor Fun.I found their Black Bean Sauce nicely balanced and the fish meat fresh and sturdy.Pork Ribs had crispy crust, meat was tender and adorned with a coat of sweetened sauce that I fancy. The sotong dish wasn't too shabby as well, but just a little on the damped thus the crust lacked that crispy element. The belacan used for the french beans was mama mia! It was a plate of savoury shiokness! The sauce was a match made in heaven when mixed with white rice.Lastly, dry Beef Hor Fun was a little wet, but had a fragrant wok hei, so can't really complain. As for the other dishes, although not highly recommended, but you may try your luck!Total bill for 7 dishes inclusive of steamed rice was $67 for 7 pax.
